Accident Waiuku Rd - Biker Down

Looked as though the vehicle which was towing a boat trailer had pulled out of the road to Aka-Aka onto Waiuku Rd and collected the biker. We came through around 3.30pm and it had not long happened.

Might not have been but looked to me to be another case of "didn't see the bike" and had pulled out right in front of the bike. Two ambo's in attendance.

Hope the biker survived. Makes me extremely sad when I come across this type of thing.

    my own fault really.

dunno if it is to do with this but just heard on the news of a biker down who has lost his leg and his wife has died so even if it's not this then it's not a good day after all and the leg is one thing but a loved one is just shit

    Thoughts with him too

Yup there is a lot of boats (big ones) being towed by 4 wheel drive (owners of the roads) trafffic on narrowish roads heading for the ramps on the Awhitu peninsula that use a lot of the road and with the single focus on a good days fishing, don't seem to have any concept of other road users.
Thoughts with a rider knocked down..B

Bugger, my thoughts go out to friends and family.
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

He certainly looked to be in a pretty serious condition when we came past.

Hope he has a speedy recovery.
