You will remember that crash in cold weather!
Hope you are feeling better and the bike is OK, good to see you will be back on it soon.

Get well soon Crashe.. Perhaps we could send House around to help sort you out.
Managed a wee off last weekend, small bruse on elbow and little bit of gravel rash on wrist as cause of the heat I hadnt zipped my leathers and they rode up my arm a little. Was in the country and no cars involved, or thankfully fence posts too. So apart from needing a new front indicator and a little TLC bike and rider ok.
Not good when cars do the unexpected infront of you and you have run out of room. They are of course all out to get us. So be careful

Thanks to the KBers (Markauckland, Sixpackback and Motoracer) who have already popped around to check out my bike...
It was really nice of you to do this for me... and I really appreciate all your help.

Thanks also to all the text messages from you all and also the PM's that I have received with your get well and hope you are ok messages.
Cheers guys that really does rock.

At this stage I am going to need to buy a headlight rim, left front indicator lens cover and a front mudguard.

I have to straighten up the headlight bracket, straighten up the knobs and buttons on the left hand side of the handlebar, straighten up the left hand indicator. Tighten up and reset the two side mirrors.
I also have to get rid of the wee dent that is also in my tank... Left side of the tank.

Check the handlebars are in fact still straight.

After all that is done I will take it into the bike shop to get the two broken back spokes replaced and I will also get the front wheel trued up as well.
As the front wheel is slightly out and the spokes need tweeking to get it to run true again.

So the bike didn't end up with too much damage.
Anyone wanting to help with putting all the things back into place...
    all help is welcomed...

I have checked the prices for the following things:
A brand new headlight rim $112 - to come from Aussie
A brand new indicator lens cover $15 - available in NZ
A brand new front mudguard $ ????? - havent got the price for that yet.

But would be happy to find out from anyone out there if they are available second hand or at a cheaper cost.

As to me, I wont be back on the bike until the leg is better.
I am now a wonderful shade of purple on some parts of me.
Plus the body aches all over...

If I can get the bike all back together soon.. then maybe I could be back on the bike within a couple of weeks, but only once my GP gives me the all clear to ride again.

I am getting a visit from the police tomorrow (sunday) night re the accident.
Seems the car driver is changing her statement already as to what happened...

don't suppose we can bog and paint the headlight rim?

and think tank needs to come off to get it pulled...

might be able to get some of the expensive parts from japan... as I am getting a few replacement bits for my hornet as well.

one more picture of my hand from a side view..
the hand was bruised as hell and is still swollen.

All I can say is that I got off very lightly after my crash....
Tis hard to pick up things with both hands as the thumbs are not working properly.
Have to use two hands to hold a drink.
I cant make a fist yet as the fingers are swollen as well.
Left leg hurts like fark at the moment...
Hopefully be not using the crutches by the end of this week...
    and leg brace off soon...

Resting the left leg all the time...
Damn hard to get in and out of cars with a brace on the leg and crutches...

Our mate has just got his brace off but still on crutches.

    Take care. Thinking of you.

The police rung me Saturday arvo to say that they would ring me Sunday arvo to come and see me Sunday night to take my statement....

At 8pm on Sunday night, I rung the copshop as to enquire as to when they were coming...
The receptionst put me throu to the "Muster room" as the person was in there. Well it turned out that wasnt the cop that was at the scene nor had she rung me the night before. She took all my details and the accident report number. Came back and told me the names of the two police officers at the accident scene were. (they arrived as I was heading off in the ambulance so I never saw them) This police officer said that she would contact them and have them ring me back in 10 minutes....

Well I am still waiting for them to ring me back. Today is now Tuesday.

Monday morning I had the other persons insurance company ring me at 9am, wanting all my insurance details.. like WTF........
No way was I handing over my details ..... as I want it all sorted out with the police and their final report before anything gets done via any insurance companies.

The police were told my cell phone number at the scene by a friend of mine and told my home number was confidential.... guess what number they gave to the other person.. yup my home ph number.
The police when they rung me on Saturday night, they rang my cell ph number...

The other person has rung the police to enquire as to how I am.... according to the insurance lady.. she was informed by the police that I am fit and well and that I am totally fine....... and like they know this cos they have seen me in person... NOT. gee I am getting around on crutches... I landed on the top of my head and then bounced my chin twice..... and it flaming hurts to move at times...
But according to the police I am totally ok...

Oh well I suppose if you are alive then you are ok...

Crashe - keep a diary of things hun. It'll be your best defence against the "he said - she said" that can happen.

    Good luck
