    Cool

    YIPEEEEEEE no needle needed..... wohooooooo
Phew I'm so glad about that.

But I was sent off by my knee specialist, to go to a Orthotic clinic and get a (ROM) knee brace out in Penrose. (all on ACC)
Which means that I can now start to bend my knee a little bit at a time...
so that means another two weeks at least off my bike or driving my car.

I have to go back to see the knee specialist in two weeks time.

This knee brace is so much lighter and cooler to wear than the other knee brace.

But as I arrived at White cross for my appointment and hobbling throu their carpark on crutches.. who should be hanging out the window, yelling at me... yep it could only be the one and only Scorpygirl ...

So I txted her after I had my appointment and she charged outside to greet me... Cheers Scorpygirl, it was great to see you and do a quick catchup ....
You and Rhino, know where to find me over the next two weeks... txt and call in anytime.

    Cool

I called into Henderson motorcycles today to get the prices of the new parts.
They managed to get the headlight bracket back into shape for me...

Cheers guys for that... much appreciated.

To replace the headlight Rim is $112
To replace the Handlebars is $120
To replace the indicator light cover $15

To have replaced the headlight bracket was gonna cost me $42.15.

I will put what I need in Online trading... in case anyone in other areas out of Auckland can check out their local wreckers for me...

EDIT: Here is the "Online Trading" thread with me wanting parts for the bike.

    Good one Crashe!

That sounds like a real rip off to me regarding the headlight rim. I'll look around for a cheaper one for ya.

I have already plastic welded your guard. Since I have to finsh a job once I start something, if you don't mind I'll just paint it and finish off the mud guard for ya. It'll probably be done by next weekend or so..

Hope you are feeling lot better your self.

    Cheers Sudeep... much appreciated...

I did out of curiosity find out the cost of a new mudguard... $336 new... OUCH.

Yep I am still house bound till I see the knee specialist again on the 15th March.

Most of the bruising has now gone...
Left thumb still has no strength as I discovered when I was using a stress ball this arvo... it was really hurting when squeezing the stress ball.
So I am gonna have to work on that.
Right hand is doing a lot better but still a little way to go.
The knuckles on both hands ache but are so much better than they were.

I have been told by the knee specialist that I need physio on the left knee.
well thats all good and dandy... but I cant drive there..
so Im gonna ring up ACC on Monday and see if they will foot the bill for taxi's etc..

Starting to bend the knee a little bit at a time... can feel it pulling right on the knee cap... but I have to go past the point of pain to get better...

I'm getting around on the crutches really good now...

Just a pain when you are sitting somewhere and people just have to walk by and knock your leg just cos its sticking out.. like hello you can see the massive leg brace on the leg...

When I do get taken out in the car by kind folks.. I am always looking to see if I know any of the riders out there... to see if any are KBers...
and I grrrrrrrrr at myself cos I cant be out there riding... but soon... I will be back...

    Cool

Update: Saw the knee specialist today. He is happy that the knee is healing nicely..

I have to continue to wear my leg brace for another 4 weeks GRRRRRRR
and continue with physio and start to rebuild up my leg strength again.

But the good news is that I dont need to rely on the crutches as much now.. only use them when going out to make sure that I dont fall over... and to hit anyone who makes fun of me being on crutches...

I am allowed to start to drive my car again... well to see how it goes...
So may try driving up and down my driveway to see how I cope..

But the real bad news is that I'm not to ride yet... BUGGAR.

So that gives me a little bit more time to get the bike fixed up again.

Just been and picked up a new speedo light bulb.... so will put that back in tomorrow...

I have to see the knee specialist again in 4 weeks time.

Great to catch up again today and sorry I didn't shout out the window this time but two of the managers were around so I didn't think they would appreciate it.

I am really pleased that the knee is healing as it should. Keep up with the exercises and mind where you point them crutches!!
