    Oh well, he was good to me...and the bike got checked over by two mechanics at different shops...so I think I've got as much confidence as can be asked for when buying a second hand bike.

    It's fun allright. There was a few slippages on my last trip. About 3-5ks, probably less now, of gravel just out from Wimbleton heading towards Waipuk. No worse than the average road works you see on state highways.

    Can still remember the first time going up that route. Slow, with gravel for 80% of it. Still was enjoyable, I was in no hurry. The CB550 seemed to handle it ok. Certainly a lot quicker now.

    Hell... I used this road only once and got my first ticket in 20yrs!!... 119k, 3 Jan 2006, 14.31hrs Location Ongaonga....$120 20pts. Mike Valentine saved me to a certain degree. No idea where Tikotiko pub is.....

    Tikikino pub I think he means. Creamy building on the left on a long straight before you get the Tikotino sports feild............................Halfway between the Takapau Plans turn off and Maraekakaho.
