Glad to hear you're ok. I have also had some "interesting" experiences with cars on that road (them cutting corners while i'm going in hot). was coming out of clevedon or going in ??? if coming out luck you didn't fall off the mountain . Hope you get your bike up and running soon. As to insurance i have a $1000 excess on a $3000 value so i'm getting screwed lucky for you your's is under $500. Might see you on the 23rd. Two Smoker not much more I can say that has not been said other than I had a mate killed with a head-on with a car a few years ago and he was going slower than you. Cats have nine lives bikers have two and you have used up one of them. My advice is to ride within your limits and not the bike in front. But the 'hehe' comments suggest that you have already forgotton the lesson.

the "hehehe" comment was referring to racing on the track, not the road because i can only get about 170-180kmh on the back straight.
i was riding within my limits but i was a dumb arse and was following too close as you said .

i definately have not forgotten what happened, what could have happened and what it has cost me. I have learned from the lesson of following to close and as you can read in the previous comments i consider myself very lucky.

I do admit im not the best rider, but no one is, yes i do have alot of learning to go but i also have done alot of learning..... Ask people that have ridden with me if i ride within my limits......... As people say, let the veiw of seeing the person ride be the judge not the comments or what has been percieved...

Well said TS......honestly - who cares what anyone thinks - you made a mistake, and anyone would be lying if they said they haven't made exactly the same mistake. Just don't make it twice and you will be right. I agree - listen to those around you - not the 'internet jury'.

My ethos is never make the same mistake twice and hopefully eventually you will run out of mistakes to make.

Cheers wkid one, my ethics are the similar but i like to prevent the accident before they happen by listening to people with more experience such as yourself, reading books and experimenting on the track, deserted carparks and the like...

Definately dont want to make the same mistake twice, because that will show that the person hasnt learned......

Yeah that bike is a bit strange, still I've had a good 1m sideways slip on it down woodlands park road, its all a matter of confidence. Havent scraped the pegs.... I dont think the tyres would like that much.
The frame on it is very flexy....I got on after being on the beemer and it felt like it was going to fall apart....

i think i must be on 4. thats riding only 3 years on street, on the dirt i think i crashed somewhere between 100-500 times between 9-15, but thats different, i couldnt touch the ground on the xr200 so if i got unbalanced or she wudnt get up a hill it was like, doomph, hit the soft sand of woodhill and wait for a brother to pick my bike up for me!
