    Motorcross boots.
With an alloy/stainless strip riveted up the outside of the back.
Much cheaper than fixing the kickstart.

    Wait a minute...
If the kickstart mech is the same in the 6-speed gearbox then I may have one you could have.
    I'll check it out.

Ohhhhhh, so you were being an insulting jerk, as opposed to a witty guy...I get it now.

Brings back painful memories! Never got that badly bruised tho'. I used to get the kickstart slamming up into the sole of my foot - back in the days when my riding attire included sneakers or whatever work footwear was appropriate - nowhere near the protection of a motorcycle boot... I'm surprised my right arch is not permanently higher than my left because of kickstarters.

Get some Arnica on those bruises, Cathy, and might I suggest crash-starting the bike until you can get the starter fixed...

(If you're able to run fast enough with all those bruises)

Alternating with a 'T'-series Suzuki would have evened it up for ya
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

I don't think kick starting is optional on this one.

MSTRS said he was sending her parts so the kick start works properly rather than savaging her legs, that was the "starter" to which I referred.

I used to put the bike on its centre stand and kick with my left foot when my right foot got too sore to persist - that must've evened things out.

And took a few chunks out of my left ankle, kick starting with the "wrong" foot is not easy...
