    Thumbs up Good on you

There's just too many fuckwits in the Cages in Remuera area.

I am so sick of tailgating cage drivers, they have NO IDEA there's no way they can stop in time if I slam on the brakes when there's a cat or dog run across the road.

    WELL DONE mate,

    A short story happened overseas,
A bike friend is in Big dump truck business who rides his scooter between office and truck yard accross the road, a cage driver drove a tailgating Skyline R33 took him out and did a runner just when he was turning and ride his scooter into his driveway in the office, he let the bike lying there, sprint into office, grab the key of the loaded 30 ton dump truck and follow the R33, who has no idea the truck driver was the bike rider he ran over minutes ago.
R33 driver arrived home, reversed his car into the driveway, walked into his house, seconds later the fully loaded dump truck reverse into the R33 (should I say ON TO) and the truck just drove off ..........

Yeah I'd like to know how it is that the cage driver sat there with his window open and did nuttin while you strolled up and dissed him.

That being said I can understand your anger, I had a near miss from a taxi one time who just sailed right out of the top of Queen St while I was heading up K Rd towards Grafton, and when I pulled alongside him I let his fender have it 3 or 4 times with my steel tips by way of a hello

He didn't take it too kindly however and tried to ram me, some people

Had a fuckwit years ago piss me off bout something, ( too long ago to remember) anyway I got out of my volkswagon, Ripped his sunglasses off twisted them and said that be ya neck next time and stormed off back into my car. Felt good. Wife was not impressed.

But if you realy want to take a chance open the drivers door pull them half out and slam the door aginst their ribs. Did that once to a guy driving an old 36 or 37 v8. They have heavy doors. Found out later I broke two of his ribs.

    F*kn A

Yeah why do some drivers get so bitter and twisted about the fact that we can filter and be the first off at the lights?? Even if I didn't ride a bike I don't think I would care about that.

Maybe a biker ran off with his missus or something, sounds like he already had a grudge against em in the first place. Tailgating anyones a dangerous and stupid thing to do (jabbing your brakes on cause your being tailgated is equally dangerous) - I caused an accident on the motorway doing that in my more wreckless youth - no one hurt but I felt like a twat all the same.

Yup I hate those tailgaters as well and I had a good laugh at your post..
I hope his House/Work/Garage keys were on the same bunch..
I'd keep an eye on yer back for a while in that area as when it all sinks in this guy is gonna be after blood..
Tail-gating seems to be of pandemic proportion in AKL with lots of evidence of it in the continual nose to tail fiasco you see on the motorways daily. Do the police ever nail people over it (cos they must see it a lot) or is it too difficult to prove..? I am sure the Insurance companies are sick of repairing front and rear ends in the AKL area..

Thanks for all your positive feedback on this guys - I agree it is an ongoing problem, but something we all have to be aware of in day to day riding.

    Because I can...

You have to remember I have a plastic bike. If it were me, an he'd got out and kicked it over before I could take off (because I don't believe you'd be able to), my macho stupidity would've cost me big $$$$. Not to mention assault charges, hospital fees, whatever else came with it.

/edit: Cause lets face it, what would you do (assuming you were a testosterone fueled idiot) if some knob on a wank wank power ranger bike threw your keys?

completely agree with what you did. i nearly did the same to a guy on sunday.
coming down the akaroa hill where there are lots of 25km and 35km corners not ideal for passing. had a newbie in between me and sniper and this lexus starts tailgating me all the way down the hill, naturally i had left car lengths space between me and the newbie in case they had to brake hard and the asshole passes me on the hills in between me and the newbir right up their ass, i really got wild. maybe need you to come down here imdying
