    Gidday new old biker here

Gidday, been reading this place for months.
    Learnt a lot too.
I've retaken up riding again after about 8 years on my trusty old steed thats been parked up for the time.
Looking for a new bike but undecided as what.
But thats the fun in looking I guess.

    Great site and forum.

    I'm not sure mate.
    Possibly European, but not BMW.
Dont want a cruiser, nor a hard out sports bike.
Not sure about a naked bike either.

So its fair to say I'm confused and undecided.

Welcome to K.B Dooly. How about one of the new Triumph range. The Thruxton looks a beaut and reasonably priced. An instant classic.

    Thanks for the welcome.

I admit the Triumphs are appealing.

    Hi.

Well, theres no kids at home now, the old bike was parked up for years whilst we sorted our lifestyle block out.
Have a quad to blast around on and a few weeks ago brought an old TS125 for the wife to learn how to ride in the paddocks.
Reading here helped rekindle me as well.
Hopefully the wife will get her bike licence and her own bike, she seems keen.

I saw a bike on trademe last week and thought I might look seriously at it, but after discussing it with the owner, and was going to phone him tonight with an offer, he emailed me and said he sold it today.
    It was a '05 Ducati SS 1000DS.

    Damn

Yeah a dual purpose bike could a good for ya, especially if you're out in the boonies already. If you don't want to get too adventurous and like Triumphs how about a Triumph Tiger? ... oh and welcome aboard.

    Thanks again.

I'm not out in the boonies, only have 10 acres 5 mins from town, and an adventurer type does'nt interest me.
I'm going to buy a Honda XR soon to ride around chasing the missus.

Guess I'm an old hoon, and need something to give me a rush, so probably leaning towards a sport/tourer.
The old 79 CB900 is ok, but its time to move on, move up.

You will be pleased to know that Ambulances and Hearses are much faster than they used to be! Should be quite a rush!
