I went up to Helensville this afternoon after the Bronz run to check out the Britten.
Had a great time talking bikes and checking out the parked machinery. Love the new Aprilla and what can I do but drool over the MV Augusta. (Where do people get all that money from for some of those beautiful bikes?) Saw a nice Ducati there that looked as if it had been dropped on its side today or very recently. Commiserations to the owner.

We had to wait a while but it sounded awesome when they started the Britten up. It has a tone all of it's own I think. The guy riding it warmed it up and did a run away from the Grand Hotel up the main drag of town. It was a shame we did not realise thats what he was going to do or we could have all gone round the corner and watched him open it up on the straight but as it was he came back 5 minutes later and did a doughnut then put it away again. So I did not see as much as I would have liked as I have not seen it going before. Perhaps next year they may plan it a little better. It was a good crowd and I was really impressed with the lady on the Honda (?) doing stoppies. Certainly showed the boys up. Good on her, I wish I could ride like that.
