Aargh - I binned it! Anyone know a good painter?

Like an idiot, I binned the 9R on the way to work this morning. Got too greedy on the gas with cold tyres. Bloody idiot.

It's not bad, needs a new screen and a bit of paint. The exhaust can is a bit scratched up, but I guess that's an excuse to get a decent one...

The paint was custom done by the previous owner so I'll need to get it colour-matched. There's a cracked out piece on the fairing on the other side that wants repairing as well. Who do you recommend as a painter / panelman? I want a good job done, I'm not too bothered about the absolute cheapest price as long as it's reasonable.

And where do you get a new screen from? Should I go OEM or aftermarket?

plastic welding - "the plastic repair shop" in glenfield/wairau

painting - any car painter can do a good job, but reflections motorcycle refinishers are said to be the best for bikes in auckland.

screen - check tardme (not much atm i dont think), or ebay which would probably be your best shot, the screen will be cheap, not sure on getting it to NZ though.

Other option is an aftermarket one, i think cycletreads can get them for about $160 in double bubble.

Yeah - now I've smacked up every vehicle I've ever owned! I guess that's kind of an achievement of some sort...

Naa, no pics - I don't have a digital camera, and I'm at work anyway ATM. She's really just got a bit of gravel-rash. Well, OK, QUITE a bit of gravel rash, but it looks worse than it really is because the plastic's black underneath the green paint so it shows up bigtime.

I'm fine, as with all my own-fault bins, low speed lowside. Small graze on my knee (about 20c piece size) and a hole in the jeans to match, another hole near the hip pocket but my cellphone seems to have taken the brunt of that. My arms are fscked though, I think I pulled both my biceps lifting the heavy biatch up again. Didn't feel it for about an hour, but now I can hardly lift anything.

It's just so annoying more than anything.

Reflections do plastic welding as well if you want a one-stop-shop.

Can highly recommend Golden Gun Panel and Paint in New Lynn on the paintwork... they can like most colour match anything and are always really good to me!

Reflections are PERFECT but you pay for perfection. I'd always use them though.
