I *Hate* the Sound of "Bike Meets Road".

So there I am this morning, lane-splitting like a bastid, when I come to where the lanes merge. I keep an eye out for somewhere to pull in, and spot a space with a scooter-thingie in it (one of those things that's somewhere between bike and scooter). Yup, plenty of space.

The young lady hears me coming ("AAAAAHHH!! What's that!?!" or "Wow! That's a kewl looking/sounding bike - I'll make room for him behind!"), and moves forward a bit (totally unnecessary, but kind), while flashing a quick look over her shoulder. The car in front has stopped again. She turns her head to the front again, sees she's about a foot from doom, hits the anchors, then hits the deck as the diminutive front wheel tucks under.
    Ruh-roh...
Nasty sound of "bike-thing meets road".
I flick the sidestand down, as she's having trouble lifting the thing, but after a few seconds (seems like much longer in the traffic) she's up, and OK.
    "Are you OK?"
"Yes. I was just looking around to see if there was enough room..."
"That's kind, but always look ahead - I can take care of me. You sure you're OK?"
    "Yes."
So, off I go, feeling a little guilty, and riding more carefully on the freshly slicked roads.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Bugger. Amazing how trying to be nice can backfire.

    Oh Fishlayer
Be hard to check if it was a bush pig with a helmet on. Then again, the focussed eyes, the piggy slot peepers, the large teeth, the hairy snout.....
    You could be right mate.

Hope the nice lady aint reading this forum.

Yep, when you try to do good see what happens. Talk about a back fire.
You would feel pretty terrible after that.

Try Exmouth and Sylvan, they have corners.
