    funny bin for the week

well for me not for the guy involved.

Guy who works the night shift shows up as I was having a smoke after work. He was about 10 minutes late and wearing a t shirt and that protective stuff known as skin on his arms.

anyway, comes flying in the gate, round a truck that was parked in the way and hit a piece of cardboard that was lying on the ground. Front steps sideways, rear locks up big time and he was there for the ride which looked pretty damn funny. Low speed drop so he got away with it nicely but the bike hit the ground and there were 5 or 6 guys sitting at the table with me all watching the incident unfold.

Ha.... maybe I am just a sadist.......

    I would have laughed too.
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

Will be interesting to know if he uses Cow skin rather than his own as protection next time.

    Cool

    But is the bike ok?

Oh and is the rider also ok......

I had a highsider at low speed on the 16/2/06 and I have fluid (effusion) on the knee... waiting to see a knee specialist next wed.
so you can end up still badly hurt even at low speed.

yeah. The bike (noticed you asked about that first) is ok and the rider is ok physically. Emotionally he took a hit with everyone watching in all.

By low speed he was probably doing 20k.. Maybe 30.

Bummer about your knee. Best of luck getting that patched up.

It's been the slow speed crashes that have caused my worst injuries, have crashed twice at over 200 kph on the track, and was ok!

i would have laughed after getting the bike upright...dont want the fluids to leak after all!

as far as speed crashes...my only decent wreck was at around 55k...no jacket or gloves....helmet, sunglasses, jeans and boots. landed on my back....got a scar and a numb leg and at the time had two tiny scratches on my thumb. brent_b's accident i think said broken/fractured pelvis at around 40k? i dont know what protective gear he was wearing at the time, but im guessing all of it.

both accidents totalled the bikes involved.

So does that mean you got your bike all sorted now?

The guy that binned it isn't the one you've been telling me about (ie lack of lid etc?)
Life is difficult because it is non-linear.
