Haha...yeah, I've thought about that one before. I think I'll pay the $1k in plastic damage for the use of my leg for 3 months of my life though.

Sorry to hear 'bout that! Not fun! Glad you're okay, though, coulda been a lot worse if you'd slid under a car or something! Gives us pause to think about how casual we can get at times. Life can bite you when you least expect it.

avlflr - i mostly know young'ns that only joined up a year or two ago.

My old man is Graham Deacon, everyone in the airforce seems to know him

I just went around the corner on the way home from work to see what the corner was like... there is fuckloads of oil splodges everywhere, and from the looks of things its the same car because they all have the same pattern, some of the shit was fresh (able to wipe it off with my finger) - fucks me off to no end but what am i gonna do about it?

As for the bike, im gonna get my mate to make me some carbon fibre covers to hide then engine bits that stick out, gonna get some anodised pegs to replace the pillion ones (and probably mine too) *considering* painting the lower fairings matt black, but may just save up and go to reflections to get a proper job done and get it back to normal. Problem is that my old man (who paid for most of the bike) believes everything should go back to how it was.

As for the race fairings idea - it's one of 'those things' i'm already saving up for, just couldnt get them soon enough.

    Bum

Take a photo of the oil on the road, In England it was possible to get the council to reach into their pockets and pay , due to not maintaining the road. Dont Know about NZ ( worth a punt ??)

Second point , afraid your old man is right, IMHO aftermarket products are only worth what the buyer is willing to pay. At auction I would bid a lower price for a non standard bike than I would with a aftermarket part

Thats only at resale. In the mean time BLING THE F$$%%^^ outa it . cos Standard Sux big time .....

and example of this , is super trapp, on long duration cams, they lose power, but the marketing is there, So If for example I was buying an enfield which had a super trapp I would lower the price to include the purchase of a replacement muffer ( for example )

All in all not a good day for you ! Sorry to hear that ?

just been in to reflections and the quote comes too... err... far more than i want to pay, but he did have a complete tail section in better condition than mine which i got for $100 which will atleast save $$ on the plastic welding, im gonna sand up the scratches on it (on the top at the back ???) and stick some white vinyl over the back to make a number board.

If someone wants to teach me to plastic weld i would love to practice on my brocken tail section and my old mudguard. - Im gonna use them for the track, which so now i only need top and side fibreglass fairings.

I plastic welded up my old zxr fairings with my pretty grunty soldering iron....

Dave tells me it's still holding good a couple years later..
Lump lingered last in line for brains,
And the ones she got were sort of rotten and insane...
