they said i would be covered and i got them to print this on my insurance certificate. and they did this.
do you reckon they'd be able to get out of it even though it was stated on my insurance certs?
I would be most surprised if they stood by this.

On a 'R' and on a 750? - I would think they would say "sorry, you shouldn't have been on a bike that big so we're not paying out".

Of course I'm prepared to stand corrected by somebody.

I got my full bike license at 16, got my learners car license at 37(I had a family record to beat after all), I will get full car one for my 40th bday, though not much of a present I know.
I got pulled over for a chat a few months back, and cop thought my license was very strange, he had never seen that combo before!

Hate to focus on the licence things but... unless you have one

    1) I don't know if you even know the road rules. That's bad for you and (more selfishly) dangerous for me
    2) No insurance. If you have insured your bike - stop. They won't pay out, so you might as well save your money
    3) Demerits

As for the 10k revs... yeah it's reasonable for the engine to do... but is it reasonable for the neighbours to listen to, and do you need to pull that many revs on the road?

The track sure... but the road?

Unless they knew and specifically agreed to the situation ahead of time - there would be no payout.

It would classed as something increasing the risks if nothing else... an illegal operation of the vehicle etc etc etc.

Nu uhu - no payout. Save your money.

If you're unsure - just ring them and ask...

Nope - it's a contractual obligation on their part as soon as it's agreed as a condition of sale.

Got your last post - good move!

The insurance - if an insurance company makes a specific endorsement to your individual policy that contradicts the standard terms and conditions, and is to your benefit, then the insurer is bound to follow that. But trust me, it must be a mistake. They'd be a silly insurance company otherwise - willfully insuring someone who is clearly breaking the law. But it's their liability.

Regarding the let off from the cops, yep, glad to hear a good story about them for a change. It's only the negatives that get remembered and voiced usually, so well done.

The license? A bit of a joke that I should enter this debate, since I only got a license cos my mate selling me the FZR400 wouldn't do it until I got at least a learners. But with hindsight, I'm glad I did, and now hold a full. It makes potential stops a lot less stressful, a lot less reason for runners, and a lot less potential financial liability, including the ability to be insured. I realise not everyone choses to be insured, I didn't until I got a recent payrise making it affordable for me, however it's one less thing I now have to worry about.

    1) I hold a full car license, and have done for the last 8 years so am pretty sure I know the road rules, unless there are a different set I am unaware of for motorbikes?
    2) Only insured for 3rd party fire and theft, mainly for the theft, and yes I am fully aware that Im not covered in the case of an accident.
    3) Demerits.........Still on 0..........No Problems here yet.

10,000 revs with a rev limit of 16,000 is very reasonable and hardly a public nuisanse. Kinda like you doing 7,500 with a 12,000rev limit (I think thats what the RF's have???) Not exactly ringing the balls off it? And still less annoyance than the little boy racer bastards.

my bike is cruising at 10 k, I have also been let off on the old 400 on a R , only reason I am doing it is my last bike got stolen and the loss of excess meant buying another 250 was too expensive, still got my road tax though. Might go get full soon though, whats it up to these days $$ wise, mind you I really dont want to go into the local branch of AA as no one speaks english there

Well, there is. Lets list some.

    1) You don't have to stop in the middle of the street waiting for a car to turn right. You may safely pass on the left.

Life's stressful enough without the worry of being "done" for flouting the law. Just go and get the licence and then relax. I know it sucks to have to go back to a 250 for a while but heck, 250's ain't wot they used to be! They can go like snot now. There have always been some nice cops around, I was asked by the local to please ride more quietly up my street as a neighbour had complained. Surprising how much noise the old B31 could make wound out in second with a gutted Dunstall megaphone on it... (Wish I still had, of course!)
