Some onboard footage from my last bike.

A couple of laps of ruapuna, nothing proper fast or anything but still giving it heaps by my standards. (No audio, took too much effing around!). It's about 4 minutes long and 27mb.

    Ruapuna.avi - left click.

You'll see the bike move around a bit, never bothered me but the bike was 9yrs old with 57,000 km's so it could've done with a freshen up to go faster. Updating to the thou took care of it all in one move!!

You may need to install the xvid codec (about 638kb) from this website. Download the latest version.

lol! When I first captured that particular vid it was 4.53gb in size! xVid reduced it to 27mb (well about 60mb but that included audio but no sound was present so I stripped what audio it thought it had away.)

Did ya get your firewire cable? GK lets you do all sorts of things, cropping, resampling, too many options to play with almost It's a bit basic in the interface, but most of the powerful open source stuff is You can also down sample the audio, saving space

    cool vid
    pity about the sound.

Gordian knot uses VirtualdubMod to process part of the video, so it won't achieve anything better than virtualdub will do by itself.

You can play around a lot with different resolutions and bitrates to see what the "best" size/compression is. For sharing stuff on the net I usually use something like 384x288 pixels and convert the audio to 32000Hz sampling rate and either mono 48kbps or sterio 96kbps CBR mp3 (using the LAME codec). It all just depends on the quality (or filesize) you want.

That dude at the start is Brenden he's a good cunt, rides a CBR900 Fireblade.

I reckon those are wicked video's, should wack some music over the top of the ruapuna one, would be wicked.

You got that half right. He is a good bugger, but he is still trying to ride the CBR.

Who am I kidding, he is a damn good rider.

I'll be playing around with some more footage tonight, better compression, better res and sound. I'll post some up when I'm done.
