All the brand new ones are baffled to the max, after they get out the show-room.......they 'somehow' get noisy. (sometimes BEFORE they get out too)

They sound like VW beetles with stock pipes ( shared technology i guess ):spudwave:

I saw this wanabee a few months back in the middle of the city on a sporty with ear bleedingly loud pipes ,wringing the poor Harleys neck (1800rpm???)
It sounded hideous let alone annoying lots of people, we dont need that sort of thing.

I have loud pipes on the TL but usualy always try and keep it to a dull roar in built up areas. and will hit the kill switch and coast past Horses.

And all the Harley guys , I am only joking

I find the mighty VTZ of doom is too quiet!!!!! (Standard exhaust) When I ride around the fair city of Wellyvegas, if I dont blip my throttle when riding slowly people walk out clean in front of me. No kidding this happens often and it pisses me off.

After the small fix it list my next stop will be cycleworks or neptune for a slightly louder can.

Like well tuned sound but some of those boy racer cars are just plain painful and rediculous. What possible performance gain can be had from a 2 Litre car with a 4 inch muffler????????

omg that is just so much fun and being an ex tl pilot i know how gutted you'd be.....

reminds me of a mate coming home to the king country from police college one friday night on his vfr800. pedalling rather quickly (he thought) along the straights south of sanson, til he got the bird from a passing tl rider - then he decided to give chase.

thought sh1 was looking a little unfamiliar until they pulled into w(h)anganui

the sound of an idling TL is way better than any harley in my books (referring to Teflon's TL, as that's the only one i've seen/heard so far)... and talking about aftermarket-exhast bikes making you almost leap off your bike, on the Hamilton ride yesterday, I think it was Warr's bike, that had almost the same affect the first time he went zooming past me... it was still getting me on the 2nd or 3rd time... although even Momentum's CBR250RR got to me once or twice... GRRR i need a bike that can beat my 105-ish top speed

if it comes out of the factory like that... then its legal.
same goes with anything. ie: late model legacys, darker than legal tint, but still legal because its factory.

Road King rental, Harley changed the ECU so you can't to a download to suit a debaffle - you have to fit a PC3. Too dear for a rental bike.
And don't the US punters moan about it!

I know what you mean, and I realise that having a cheap slow bike is better for the 'probable' accidents that could happen while I'm on my learners... but something that could get to do a quarter mile in under 21.02 seconds @ 97km/h (road tests), would be nice...
