I don't have a speed light, so it can't be important

Are you sure it's not that you've never been fast enough to notice you have one
The views expressed above may not match yours - But that's the reason my Dad went to war - wasn't it?

I've got a loaner CX400 while my bike's in the hospital and it has this funny red light in the bottom right of the instrument panel that started coming on shortly after I'd hook in 5th gear. Took me about half an hour of puzzling before I realised that it always came on just as I hit 90 km/h so I guess it is a 'speed light'. Funny. That's what I thought the speedo was for.

    spped light

Yeah is just to show you have reached 80kph
Must be a Jap import thing as my old CBX750 had one too

I used to use it as a gear change indicator!

Freaked me out when i first saw it and thought it was a oil light!

    Happy riding

Do the job properly, don't just shove tape over it, pull the bulb out.

    Good one hXc!

Your avatar makes me grin. And the drummer from the ozzie band "Jet" always reminds me of Animal - same manic drumming with the "look" at the end!
    All good stuff!

Its too indicate you are exceeding the national speed limit (in japan its 85km/h). But the speedo on the CBR250R is bloody inaccurate as it is - mine used to say 100km/h when its really doing 85. Fixed that by making my own speedo
