I'm not disparaging the validity of these charts but... Hang on a sec, and correct me if I'm wrong but let's take a closer look...
First Pic: HP/RPM
#1 Both bikes make roughly the same max power (111.6 Vs. 108.8).
You are never going to notice where those 3 horses went.
#2 It looks like the blue line is stomping all over the red line, but in reality the Yammy just makes its power higher up in the rev range. Right?
Second Pic: HP/MPH
#1 The blue line looks smooth and pulls nicely all the way to the finish = BORING! (Ohhhh... I'm gonna pay for that one)
The red line throws in a few kinks along the way which you may well be feeling when you wind it out. It's like a bit of red pepper powder in your noodles for a bit of kick.
#2 Eh? WTF? Top speed was only 227.2kmph (142mph) on the R6 this was obviously not top gear, was it?
#2a The blue line goes on for longer before dropping off against the rev-limiter = gearing, hello??? If you want to go faster, change your sprockets.
Third Pic: Torque / RPM
Once again, the bikes are really close: 42.4 Vs. 45.4 (pounds/feet|Lbs whateva??). The trick here is that the chart has given the Y-axis really wide divisions and (as mentioned earlier) doesn't start at zero (naughty chart!).
In reality, the 600 class is fiercely competitive and all the contestants are neck-in-neck with each other. Total power output is going to be 'much-of-a-muchness and the deciding factor will really come down to which one handles better, personal rider preference (smooth or perky?), and which gets more attention from busty (chesty for the ladies) Uni students.
I guarantee that 99.9% of us would not be disappointed with any of the current offerings ~ that's why they sell so well.
