Well what would you do? Run through the streets stark naked at 350 miles per hour with bells on your toes?
whats important is the way that suzuki makes its power , sure its only 3 hp up top but its about 10 hp more in the midrange, that means the suzuki can be one gear up and hold it longer , or the rider can fuck up and not lose so much ground on the suzuki, looking at those 2 curves id wanna be on the suzuki on a damp or wet track or road for that matter , talking about road riding that suzuki would be better for doubling as well
nah it doesn't, it has 10hp more in the same revs as the r6 but not that much more in the "midrange". Because the r6 has a higher rev limit (yeah i know its not 17000+, but 16200 apparantly) it makes its power higher in the rev range. So say the usable power on the gixxer is between (and these are just for example) 8000 and 13000, whereas the r6's power is used between 9500 and 14500, so you have to compare the power at the respective revs taking into account this different rev range. Yes the gixxer does have a way way smoother power curve and 3 or so hp more virtually right through the rev range it isn't as much as you say.Originally Posted by WINJA
Be interesting to see how much difference an aftermarket system and power commander on both bikes would make. I'm sure the uneven-ness in the r6's curve would vanish but the power differences would most likley remain the same.
EITHER SIDE OF THAT BLIP HAS 10 HP , AND AFTER I GOT THAT SORTA GAIN ON A DYNO I COULD NOTICE ITOriginally Posted by k14

Ahhh, Spman: That brings back very fond memories. My first bike was T250
and man was that fun. Did 35,000 miles on it and had two right off accidents on it. Second time not rebuildable so the mill went into a Go Kart for three whole seasons. What a motor and the handling was superb.![]()
compare the price, the R6 is $17495 and K6 is only $16295.with the equal amount of money we could choose K6 750, that will beat R6 for sure.
yeah but every dog and his flea has a gixxer.. for 15 9 you could have sex on wheels and blow all the above off the road![]()

I'd go for the GSXR.... wonder why??? hah... I really just like the looks better... allthough I'd still take a K5 over a K6(which I chose to do (waiting was not an issue))

is it a case of maybe the bikes would even out a bit if they had similar mods?
like if you gave both bikes a full system and a retune with a power commander - would they even out or would the Gixxer keep the same margin of power in front?
maybe the yamaha isn't tuned as wildy out of the box but still has the same potential?
how much do each of the bikes weigh?
gone.
Power is nothing with out control, the yamma might have better shocks, brakes and alround handeling...
Muhammad AliOnly a man who knows what it is like to be defeated can reach down to the bottom of his soul and come up with the extra ounce of power it takes to win when the match is even.
now that is disappointing being a yamaha fan.
guess they had to bullshit there way to trying to have the top 600cc sports bike.
well does anyone know what a 04 r6 puts out at the wheel in stock form and what i can expect with a better exuast.
