    helicopter bitch!

    >>>Busy bigwig uses rescue helicopter to fetch passport

    25.02.06
    By Anne Beston

When the former National Party president Michelle Boag left her passport at home before an international flight yesterday, she did the obvious thing - called the Westpac rescue helicopter to fetch it for her. <<<

Obviously what I was thinking it would be used for when I was sticking my hand in my pocket to buy a badge and make a donation on all the helicopter runs I've been on.
I bet she wouldn't have paid $4 grand for it if the media hadn't locked on.

    Thats's farked.

Rescue in all it's forms!! Did she end up 'donating'??
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Well that's the last time I make a donation to their Trust. Mind you, your prime minister is much worse. She should be in prison for the money she's wasted.

Thats just ridiculous. Should make her fork out for it.

it says later in the article that she paid for it - my guess is only when sprung.

I don't think it's such a biggie myself. She paid (before there was any hint of publicity) $4000 for the trip, which is apparently the full recovery rate. And it was a condition of the chairman of the trust (or some such bod) agreeing that if a call came in for the chopper it would respond to the call, and too bad about her passport. As the pilot said, it could respond just as well from the air as from the pad.

Can't really see anyone's the worse off, myself. Need to beware of tall poppy syndrome in such cases.

I read the Herald article this morning and it made me fume big time.

Even if she did pay who the hell does she thinks she is!!! Just cause she set up some foundation to help out the Rescue Helicopter! I bet the Auckland Ulysses President couldn't do the same thing even if we have helped to raise thousands of dollars over the years.

Since when has going to get a passport been essential rescue work!

    It makes me spew!!!

    .... end of rave.
Small and dangerous with a sting in my tail!!

No - it's inappropriate. paid for or not.
many of us contribute to a service to be used for our rescue. if it was 'donations to a charity running an errand service' would you attend the run?
What if it was needed out west at the same time?

    tis farked.

I'm with Ixion. But the sheer arrogance of her does piss me off.
She'll be one of the first against the wall.

No implying needed, everybody (self included) KNOWS I am.

Kinda sets an easy low standard for everybody else to exceed and feel good about themselves!

Hey, if they go ahead and put those computers in the plodmobiles, you'll have something to do when parked up wathing traffic!

And the GOOD thing about that is if the said parked plods are busily engaged in , uh, "essential work related activity" on the computers (well, the Films, Videos, and Publications Classification Act 1993 is a law, and part of police work is looking for breaches of law is it not? So it seems logical that police need to check out anything that could breach the aforesaid Act) , they will hopefully be too engrossed to notice me blatting past .
