I'd sue man... demand the guys resignation... hit and run drivers are the worlds worse man. Guy could have been drinking....

I wouldn't leave it with an insurance claim, go for compensation!

Glad they have come clean Danb!! At least you can now get things underway. Just stay calm and have all your evidence very clearly documented!!

    Wish you all the best!!

Thats cool they finally started to do the right thing. I agree with Weasel they should be bending over backwards to make it up to you. What sort of company would employ someone who leaves the scene of a accident.

I’m just happy they have admitted that they where wrong and did actually made an effort to contact us. It’s up to the police to what happens next about pressing charges or not.

    Cool

    Write everything down...

Take note of the name of the person who rung you and what time it was..
write down what they said as well....

All of it is vital information.... that can be used against them... should it go to court. Which it should do...

All the best in getting your bike fixed back into top working order.

Have been following your story and just wanted to say good on you for all the effort you have put in yourself for finding the driver etc. Most people would just leave it to the police to try and sort out and to be honest, most of us just wouldn't have the time to do the stuff you have done.

If you don't hear anything from the police in the next month or so, PM me and I will be happy to follow it up for you.

    re

Good on ya man!!! Hopefully justice is fully served and you get your bike or a new bike sorted.

Take them to the cleaners and get him fired and a charge against his driving record!! A hit and run is a very serious offence, especially when its someone on a bike. You could have been hurt severely and left there bleeding to death on the side of the road (Worst case scenario!). Im glad you caught this guy as i live around Howick too. And if he had got away with doing a hit and run once, im sure he would have done it again!!

May the force be with you.....

What we want to see is that the driver is made personally accountable for their actions... loosing their job is not the only solution... e.g they'll just find another job (& makes one more angry person) (vengence solves nothing)

Its best to make them understand why they should not perform the same action again. If it takes a good group of us to have a chat to them then so be it.

    Can a 7 come play??

Congrats Dan, I'm really glad you have managed to track down the vehicle, probably driver etc.

Some thanks has to go to Wormalds for ringing you and owning up, but they should have been doing that immediately, not trying to brush you off, which inevitably made the witness question what they saw etc.
