Got me a nice new Yoshimura RS-5

Well after looking at the different exhausts available for my bike and the prices they are going for I decided to purchase a Yoshimura RS-5 (slip on) for my Blade.

Ordered it direct from the States and had it in exactly 7 days!! Bloody good service and bloody good price too. Paid about $540 including freight delivered to my door.

It took about just over an hour to fit, the thing that took the most time was fitting the new adhesive heat shield.

    Looks awesome and sounds wicked!.

Copycat! Have you noticed any difference to the power delivery? So is a Power Commander next on the list? Mind you, when we're out we ride so close we could probably share one.

Maybe a little difference in power, there aren't any flat spots through the rev range. Power commander can wait I reckon. K & N's are next.

    No pun intended?

I'm surprised that more people don't buy specialist bits from the USA.
Better choice, better price, and you should be able to get exactly the right thing. If you use the big firms that advertise in the US mags there shouldn't be any risk of striking a shonky dealer.

With a slip-on a Power Commander may not be necessary, but it might be good insurance to get a dyno base run done to check the bike isn't running lean.

I looked up that Site and I could pick up 2 slip ons for my SV for around US$500 or so which is way cheaper than here even after turning into NZ?

Doesn't sound like you need to do anything to mapping?

Im definatly going to use them for an exhaust on my next bike with prices like that. Sounds like good service also.
