Funny, when i first got my Gix" i thought i had to race everything on the road, and i did, i thought i was the "bomb"( i actually was a dickhead)(that was about a year ago),, iv'e slowed down now and i pick my moments ,,very carefully,, i did a trackday a little way back,, and let it loose there,, i guess iv'e pushed the bike to its limit and dont really need to do this now,, also there are the fuzz to think about,, and unfortunate events around town, like people, cars , etc,, instead concentrate on your bike handling skills, this doesnt just mean" go hell for leather" it means looking at lines, observing whats around ya''etc,,
(fuck i sound like 5-0.......)
anyway for whats its worth" thats my view"
either way take care and safe riding--![]()

just in case.(p/t)
Motocycling is just not about power, top speed, popping wheelies blah blah. It's about becoming one with a machine, the rides, experiences and the folk you meet while doing so.
Ive been eyeing up things like the new Bonneville street scrambler.....Originally Posted by Motu

No lesson - I knew it when I bought the 1000. The 750 is sweeeet. I just wanted a challenge and they were about the same price!Originally Posted by kornholio

Totally agree, it's so rewarding when you feel like you're one with the bike, working with it, letting it operate the way it wants to, not fighting it. Having said that, I got to a point with my first big bike where I felt that I wasn't learning as much as I used to, and wanted something different, something with higher limits on which to learn more.Originally Posted by Bonez

Man, If you think you could drive a Honda Civic faster than your ZX7 there a couple of things you should consider.Originally Posted by Lazy7
1) You should get the hell out of Jaffaland for just a couple of days. Find some real roads with corners. You might learn a thing or two and even gain some confidence.
2) Your bike has the ability to keep up with most of the litre bikes in real every day conditions. Look at Craig Shirrifs on his sixhundy as an example.
3) Most police officers will pull over a speeding Honda Civic before a motorcycle in similar conditions. I have found that riding with confidence goes a long way with even just a little self-control.
4) Who really gives a rats-arse how fast a bike goes in first gear. Mind you, going from one red light to the next must be a common occurence in Auckland, I see its merits.
5) Motorcycling is about having FUN. Have fun the way you want to. I personally have more fun on the tight & twisty hills that we are blessed with than going flat out in a straight line.
6) Come to Wellington. We have this large area at our disposal for hooliganish behaviour. It is called the Wairarapa.
He He not that keen to put my own money into it either!Originally Posted by Toast

Yeah...I think quick two-strokers are the bikes that everyone wants but never buys...too much effort, not great all-rounders...still gotta buy one before I die though.Originally Posted by jonbuoy
