loss of licence..

I just took dovers bike for a test ride

and to cut a long story short got done for bike over 250cc and I will lose my licence when I pay my fines, so I let it go for two months then get court thing let it go for a further month then what?

bro did you lose your bike licence just for riding a bigger bike than 250cc ? or where you speeding hard out? your getting me worried (i ride a bike a bit over the 250cc limit)

Man, been there last year, lost licence, never again wil I not check my mirrors. It made my insurance excess higher too...

Then you file under 78b of the Summary proceedings act, a declaration, saying you never got the reminder notice and if they are nice they start the proceedings again from scratch buying you another 2 months. Or so ive heard.
Or drag it out for ages in court, by asking annoying questions that no one seems to want to answer. Then you may catch a break and get a dismissal on failure to disclose, or want of prosecution. Chances are you will just get shafted. So just smile and pay. Dont try anything difficult just pay the tax and do the no license thing.
You must admit they do wear nicer uniforms than the other tax collectors.

$400 and 25 demerits for that one if I remember correctly (been a while).

Texmo, there's no point delaying it. Just pay the fine and wait for the knock on the door. It's only 3 months and it'll be over winter.

You'll be surprised how many of us have been there. It just means you have to be a bit more wary for 3 months. The bonus is any points you incur between now and them taking you licence get wiped as well. So after the 3 months you've got a clean slate (for a short time anyway).

Just don't do what I did and get 80 points in 8 days

Texmo, contact a lawyer go for full disclosure you need to ask for alot of things to do it right, it may be to hard for them and they wont proceed, or they will provide the evidence you requested but it will probably have holes in it.
send me your address and I wil send you a letter of what you need to say (as provided to me by my lawyer)
hey this is a game to them so you might as well play it, dont roll over and take anything from these pricks.

Im taking them on through the courts at the moment.

If you just need to delay loosing it for a couple of months this is the way to go. 28 days for the original infringement, 28 days for the reminder notice, then go into the courts once it's been processed by them and they send you their letter(another 28 days from memory, BUT also adds court costs), then before those last days are up file the 78b (I never recived a reminder notice court offical guy..) and that will buy you a little more time, and may get rid of the court cost (but I'm not 99% on that point).

I was under the impression that demerit points were added with effect from the date of offence, not from the date you paid the tax. They might physically get added to the "file" when you pay it, but the actual date of offence determines when the "100 points within 2 years" applies. So that means you should be screwed. Assuming no one makes an administrative error.

And quite frankly, if you were riding a K6 thou with NO NUMBERPLATE and got busted WITHOUT a chase... well I think you deserve what's coming. No offense intended mate, but an unidentifiable thou that belongs to Dover - FFS!!

ok i heard a story that if you pay your fine leaveing say $10 still owing that drags it out because you have payed the bulk of the fine and they can't close the file untill all is payed and can't come for licence while file still open.But mate better to do 3 months over winter than over summer.
