Thumbs up Exhaust work in Aucks...

Got my bike back from Custom Chambers in East Tamaki in time for the weekend......

    And I H I G H L Y recommend them if you want anything done with your bike's exhaust.

What Peter there did for me looks good, sounds awesome, goes great, and cost LESS for the half system including heatshields and having the lot polished than I was quoted for a slip-on.

    Nice.

    What brand is that exhaust?
    How much it cost you?

I want to do my exhaust also.

It's not a brand name one - Custom Chambers make them from scratch. All they have in the workshop there is pipe and sheet metal of all sizes, and tools for working with it.....and all they do is motorcycle exhausts

Sweet ! Cheap for a full system and labour. I will have to give them a call next month for a new exhaust.

    It looks very nice, allun.

Pity he wasn't able to help me when I took my VTR there to see about getting some new endcaps made.
    ... and that's what I think.

sorry to dredge up an old thread, but was that from the head? or just from the collectors (tail pipe and end can) ?

That what this place is for innit? To store useful info and discussions

The RR has a 4 into 2 into 1....the work i got done was from the 1 part which is under the belly of the bike in about the middle, to the end (including muffler). So Peter fabricated the pipe to the right shape (lots of bends and twists, about a metre of pipe) and made the muffler and fitted it all to the bike, including making some heat shields and polishing the lot.

Was $450 for my new one from custom chambers, just tail-pipe and end can, in polished stainless. Sounds mint, and looks good too...

does the dude have the knowledge and skills to make a system that increases power and performance, or does he just make the things to your specs? I'm talking about things like tuned length, getting the right pipe diametres etc.

just asking cause i wouldn't have a clue what to ask for. I'm looking at doing my bike because my end can has a rattle in it, sounds like some of the deadening is coming loose inside of it. So if i am going to do it i may as well get it done properly from the head all the way back.

i guess if i found the specs of a brand name full system, he could fabricate to that?

Guess so....he's really approachable - so just give him a call or drop in, that's what i did.

The 7R is carb'ed isn't it? So bear in mind you'd have to do intake work (jets and tuning) in order to get the best performance increase with a new exhaust.
