Or drag it out for ages in court, by asking annoying questions that no one seems to want to answer. Then you may catch a break and get a dismissal on failure to disclose, or want of prosecution. Chances are you will just get shafted. So just smile and pay. Dont try anything difficult just pay the tax and do the no license thing.
You must admit they do wear nicer uniforms than the other tax collectors.
And accept the consequences of your actions.....

So you gather 100 points in 3 months, get your punishment for that, do three months loss of license, get license back and whammo still have the 100 points so back to court and loss of license again for three months?

You must loose them once you have been charged and punished for it else it would be a case of double Jeopardy wouldn't it?

Assuming no one makes an administrative error.
This is correct. It is re-iterated in the contents of the 50 demerit points reminder letter as referred to in this document:
    http://www.ltsa.govt.nz/roadcode/dri...the-line1.html

Trying to find a copy of the letter, have seen one before (*cough*) and it describes this process exactly as above.

This is incorrect. When your license is reinstated, you will have 0 demerit points against it, regardless of the number of points you had at time of last offence. If it didn't work this way, you'll likely have your license returned with more than 100 points, which doesn't work, does it?

this is how demerits are recorded. stretching it makes no difference. longest you can stretch it is 28 + 28 + 5.

(4)Demerit points recorded under subsection (1) have effect on and from the date of the commission of the offence for which the points are recorded.

[(5)For the purposes of subsections (1) and (4), if an infringement fee is paid to the enforcement authority at the address for payment specified in the infringement notice before or within 28 days after service of a reminder notice for that offence or within 5 days after the expiry of that 28-day period, the following provisions apply to an infringement offence:

(a)the date on which the infringement notice was issued is to be treated as the date on which the offence was committed; and

(b)a summary conviction for the offence is to be treated as having been entered against the offender on the date of the payment of the infringement fee.]

Hope the blat on the Gixxer was worth it, doesn't look like there's any way you can get out of this one to me. I think if you tried it probably wouldn't work, and you could actually make it worse for yourself.

Just be glad you weren't caught speeding as well, sounds as though you were having a blast until you decided to slow down to let Mr. Plod catch up to you!

    Have some bling as compensation.

Thats pretty bad to hear mate, but as said earlier in the thread... You would be suprised how many of us have been in your position. The straw that broke my licence's back was riding a big bike on a restricted.

Its only three months (i know it sounds forever!) Just be real careful not to be busted on the road during this time
There is no dark side of the moon, really, as a matter of fact. Its all dark...
