We went up blue mountains then up to the top of the takas and back. It was gooood
Yup yup, it definitely was mint!! Much thanks and huge kudos to BigJim for slowing down and helping out the slow pokes!
As usual, if anyone found yourself pottering behind the silver bandit, sorry 'bout that. AND feel free to tell me what I'm doing wrong, what I'm doing right etc. PM is fine, or post public-ly for general amusement.
Great!

You're doing pretty well imo. Everyones slow in the beginning. Biggest tip I can give is to just relax. Thats always been my biggest problem. I just couldn't relax
That's the two biggest things to do......Originally Posted by phoenixgtr

Great to see you all improving as the weeks go by.
Won't mention the little woops at the top, aye phoenix.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy
Haha... Relax... hard to do that when it feels like you're going wide entering a blind corner, but I guess that's a matter of knowing the road and taking the right lines.
Made a heap of difference following someone... Thanks guys!

Oh sweet, you guys have been on my test track. Did you do the Blue mountains loop to Mangaroa? I can manage a steady 70ish up Blue Mountains Rd.

Did the whole lot and came out at the bottom of kaitoke there then up the takas (with phoenix right on my ass the whole way according to him)

I wasn't trying to beat anyone. I was just feeling too confident, something I'm not used to.Originally Posted by Wasp

Good ride last night, haven't done much night riding, and on unfamiliar roads - all the more exciting. cheers dudes
Good point! I've not done the trip in complete darkness yet. my good speed run was done at dusk. We should do a ride over there one weekend. Its a twistie evil little road so go easy unless you know it well.Originally Posted by Wasp
I slowed down in the appropriate places!
So how was our easter weekend crew, did we all have a good one?

Yea im all for a ride....
Weekend was allright, pulled the bike apart (need i say more?). air filter is in mint cond (prob brand new). pulled out spark plugs 1, 2 and 4 (3's ht lead cap was stuck) sanded the crap off em bunged em back in, mixed up the ht leads on 3 & 4, fixed that.
pulled right side foot peg mount off to realised it cracked/broken in two places at the bottom and im missing a plate for the brake sensor spring to attach to.... oh and i have barely no rear brake.
went to the shop this morning to find the sales guy is away till next week so will have to ask the guys in the workshop (plan is to put new plugs in) if they can work on it. not really a problem anyway as i have my restricted on thursday arvo so i have to have the bike for that (with atleast 3 cyclinders).
oh and to top it all off my adsl modem box thingy died and now emitts a whining sound so here i am at work using up company time....
