Hey, sorry if this thread is in the wrong place. My clutch cable just snapped (right next to the clutch lever). Where do I get a new one, and how do I put it in?

ring the place you got the bike from. if it the hyosung you say you have.
is it a year old?
might still be under warranty.
not sure if cables are covered under warranty but i would think they'd last longer than a year
bought it 2nd hand in tauranga. what is the general cost of a clutch cable?Originally Posted by soundbeltfarm

Not too much $$$, ring Mt Eden Motorbikes on 09-303-1960 as they are the agents... They should be able to courier it down if you put the money in their account.
You can have one made if it’s not available.
EDIT; As above!
We all have our little obsessions...

They have a workshop, so I guess they'll take your money. Dead easy to do though. Go buy some allen keys and spanners for less than they'll charge to do it is my advice![]()
WELL WELL WELL!!! Managed to get my bike to Apex this morning without too much grief... rolling start, jump to first type thing![]()
Get there, manage to take my broken clutch cable off, and the soonest they can do something is Monday

wheel my bike up the road to queens ave, ride along that, then into frankton commerce street, continue wheeling (not wheelying) my bike up commerce street till I get to that motorcycle wreckers and parts place. They say they can do the clutch cable by 'lunch time' (it is 9am) so i'm like, yeah, i'll just wonder around. wondered into Forlongs, and Momentum waved hello, so we chatted a bit... wondered around some more... finally my cable is ready, handed over $30
managed to grab 2 cable ties, and then i taught myself to put on the new clutch cable. Everything is working fine now
...except for some other noise, that shouldn't be difficult to fix once I work out where it's coming from

$30 is about the standard rate. Congrats on fitting it yourself.Originally Posted by ZeroIndex
