one day soon we'll be reading about how some poor wellington biker died in a police chase, and it's all the police's fault......well it won't be, and someone will have used up all their lives, and some of us who have seen it all before will say 'told you so'.

this thread is one of the reasons i ride, for the most part, with trusted mates, or on my own.

that and i haven't got any friends.
If you are going to make comments on here why not actually take the time to read the comments first, yes I was speeding whilst riding with a group of motorbikes, no, it was not unsafe. And I definately did not "do a runner" stopped as soon as I noticed the cop behind me. The thread was a caution as to the fact that obviously what is now posted on here is not restricted to us that ride.

I also headed up the taka's last night and nana-ed it through Kaitoke and that. Burgandy Bluebird came roaring up behind me and sat on my tail the whole way. Got to the bottom of the twisties and he was a non-issue. Stopped at the bridge on the otherside...and eventually Bluebird came through the bridge, looked, tooted and waved. No idea if he was a cop. Farken brilliant ride that night though.

it was more a comment as to the way things seemed to be heading on this thread - i has been said quite clearly on this thread that the 240k runners, wheelies, high speed lane splitting and general public place misbehaving is going to have to stop for a while.

and of course this is open forum - if you post idiot stuff, you'll either get slammed by winja et al, or picked up by the 5-0........

and for the record, i think pushing 145-150k, while not inherently unsafe on it's own, is starting to get close to the boundaries of getting very messy should anything go wrong.

and in one breath you say you're going to defend it to the end, then you're posting (on open forum remember - duh) that 'yes i was speeding whilst riding with a group of motorbikes' . i don't think you were charged with riding in an unsafe manner, just speeding, so by your own admission.......

And this conversation went along the lines of....

What, in Auckland? Or are you in Wellington? A joint "watching exercise" in both Auckland and Wellington would see, to up the ante somewhat
