    Arrow Gixxer STOLEN $500 Reward

Saw this on trade me - don't know the guy - but he's a biker like us all so please keep a look out.

    http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...81&permanent=0

    From the ad:

This bike was stolen from Memorial Ave in Mt.Roskill, Auckland, on Friday 3rd March about 8:30pm.

It is two tone blue, and white. Has Yoshimura exhaust.
Has fairing damage to Right hand side.
Michelin Pilot Power 180/55/17 Rear tyre
    Dunlop D207 120/70/17 Front tyre.
Was stolen with pillion seat fiited, as pictured, not rear cowling.
The main left-hand spar of the frame has been damaged from a race track crash. It has been repaired and bogged and painted over. There is also a steering damper lug on that part of the frame which is not standard on the '96 GSXR.
Left-hand front fork has a CNC milled steering damper attachment around it.
Left-hand carby has slight damage sealed with black RTV silicon.

I had owned this bike for about 7 years and have had plenty of fun times on it. I have no insurance and would really like to get it back.
It was parked out on the street for 3 hours and I stupidly forgot to put the disc lock on.
I'm guessing that as soon as it got dark, the theif popped the ignition barrel out and was able to turn the ignition (and steering lock), walk it off down the road out of earshot and then start it and ride off.
I didn't realise it was stolen until I went out to get it at 10:00pm, only to find an empty space where it should have been. Gutted!

Had to get the Bus back to Papamoa the next day.

    Rego 76 TIU
    VIN/Chassis No. JS1GR7DA000502901

If you have any information on this bike you can post a comment here (on the trademe ad) or call the police (Quote Event No. N006388878)
I will pay $500 cash for information leading to the recovery of the bike.

the dude is willing to give up $500 cash to get it back, yet wouldnt pay that much (or less) for third party insurance, in which case he wouldnt be having these problems... twit

Mine doesn't, I've just got plain old third party.

Third party - Fire and Theft does though, but for my bike that was pretty much the same cost as full insurance.

for me its $88 a month, but thats full compensation up to something mental like 100k worth damage... (think my old man has a vision of me hitting a ferrari or something) with a 12.5K value on the bike in its current 'undamaged' state.

but in comparison it was going to be like $15 a month for third party, fire and theft... i think it was $120 a year for the ZXR...

so assuming his bike is worth maybe 6k, third party wouldnt be expensive at all...

I think the insurance I used to have on my CBR250 covered up to $10 million of damage...made me feel much safer when riding past and hazardous material sites.

I do feel for the guy but I think you are right if he has got $500 for a reward he should have rather paid the fire and theft thing!

Will keep an eye out although I do thing its a long shot seeing that most suzuki's come out in blue and white
