Speed doesn't kill people.
Stupidity kills people.
Arai, Shoei, HJC, Nolan, Suomy, FFM, Bell and probably more. From my subjective observation Arai and Shoei are probably the most widely available "high-end" lids.Originally Posted by moggy
PS - Nice approach with the cops Sniper, I just read the thread. Big thumbs up on how you handled that. Being honest I would probably have hid behind a sarcastic letter and then have to go to court...
heck, just read the visor thread.
I cant believe that a UK guy attempted to apply a UK law!!
(PS we arent all that bad, and I am not a cop!)
It was a misunderstanding on his part, but it was frustrating at the least.
To every man upon this earth
Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

As an aside, personal accident/injury insurance is provided by a state agency called the ACC and is compulsory and they have funded this Ride Forever website.
at the prices you can score decent bike gear at the BMF show in Peterborough you could buy a heap of gear and flick it on and make money when you get to NZOriginally Posted by moggy
you should be taking orders now
yeah right, I have only been there once, and after having been charged £8 to park the car (I was planning on buying loads of bargains and had a couple of mates with me), then having paid a silly amount to get in and queued at least an hour, I ended up saving myabe £2 on a bike cover. There were no real bargains to be had.Originally Posted by Troll
That and it took me 9 hours to get home from Birmingham
9 hours to get to birmingham??? via brighton was it ??Originally Posted by moggy
£8 to park the car???? car parking is free
last year scored a triumph leather jacket £20, BMW leather jeans £30 belstaff waterproof trousers £20, belstaff gloves £5 bike battery £15 wife scored shoei jacket £30
Arlen Ness gear was there at 1/2 price
come on get real if you couldn't find any bargains, you can't have been looking very hard
the M6 was closed due to an accident and there was thick fog which meant when I finally got back on it, max speed was about 30mph and I had to drop a mate of at Manchester.Originally Posted by Troll
that explains the 9 hours thenOriginally Posted by moggy
seriously buy some decent kit before you go to NZ the choice there is somewhat limited and expensive
and dispite what the travel brochures say it rains more in actual rainfall in nz than the uk and you will need good wet weather gear
fortunately my kit is not that old as I had to replace some of it when I had an off, it is just a lid that I could do with.Originally Posted by Troll
