so let me get this straight !

are you saying the Noise control, who I guess are contacted to Rodney District Council, have contacted your place of work ? Is that right ?

If so, Iám with Marty, its down to centerway Rd Orewa, RDC HQs get in the face of the CEO and demand some answers !!!

This seem's like bull shit to me, I lived on the coast for 10 years, found the only way to deal with RDC is to get in their face... Is brian Smith still one of the councillors ?, if so give him a ring at home, or pm me and I'll give you his work number, good luck, keep us informed

This prick seems to have the inside straight - hard to fight that. Got a tagging problem in your area? Perhaps you do now...
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Mate, don't get angry, don't get even, get one better.
Relax, take a deep breath and plan carefully.

    What is your address again?

    You mentioned bb pallets?
Any evidence of damage on the dogs?
SPCA would probably be interested in that one.

Well gee poo, no idea, have never researched it at all.
Never used a sound power meter in my life.
Never taken on a council re noise control laws either.

The post you responded to was a total fabrication.

my bad....was just doing my bit to educate the world....lol
and a sound power meter is usually a RTA [real time analiyser]....you could probally borrow one of those from most decent car audio shops...or your local high school science department...

Yeah there are a few around. Dick Smith sell them, but as we had to demonstrate compliance with a NZS we needed something that had been calibrated, hence hiring from Tech Rentals.

I don't believe there would be any point in measuring the noise level as ultimately the decision of "excessive noise" is given to the Noise Control Officer. By the sounds of things you aren't going to find much sympathy from the Council as they appear to have a bias.

    Standard Noise Control Complaints Process
When a complaint is received before 12am the caller must wait 30 minutes then call back again. This is to confirm that the noise is of an on going nature and warrants attention by a Noise Control Officer.

However, for properties that the council deems 'repeat offenders' they are added to a 'Hot List' which contains your name or address or both. If you are on this list, it means that when a complaint is received the 30 minute call back is no longer required and an NCO is dispatched immediately.

How to safely fuck off your neighbours
Weather you are on the hotlist or not, isn't really going to matter, the company which does noise control is located in Silverdale. Their resources are usually extremely stretched and the staff are real goons, most of the patrol men are on power trips with aspirations of joining the police force.

In other words, when a complaint is received, it will take them a solid 20 - 30 minutes to reach Gulf Harbour.

Position someone at the Round about just before Gulf Harbour. When the well marked security car arrives at that point, get them to singal you, who will have the stereo blasting away. At which point, you can reduce the noise, so that on their arrival, they can't do anything.

You should be able to do this serveral times before someone gets pissed off.

Another way to piss them off
From 7AM until 7PM you can use machinery, such as saws, hammers, nail guns, etc. without too much trouble. So, for example, if you wanted to build a stupid contraption with no real purpose, making as much noise as possible, then you could do so without problem.

If the NCO does issue an abatement noise, then he would be out of a job.

Even better, if you have a scanner, I can give you the frequencies that the NCO's use as well as the Council Dog control and Environmental Health departments.
