Avoid Lichfeild St between Manchester and Madras Sts. The police have a checkpoint and booze bus and are stopping EVERYONE. If you want to wait in line for 20+ mins feel free, but otherwise I would suggest bypassing it.
The cops are not in the best mood either so be aware that one wrong word and they will find something to do you for.
