eek Well I Dropped the baby:( :crybaby:

Well tonight I got a bit carried away on a stretch of road. I dropped the bike, fell on the left hand side, bike and I slid along the road for about 20 meters, me also.

I now swear by all of the safety gear on the market, was wearing riding pants, jacket and gloves (obviously helmet too!).

However I now have bit of a problem....

The crankcase (left side only) now has a couple of holes in it, at the moment I'm thinking of getting a mate to perhaps tig weld up the cover for the mean time....

Does any one know if the ZXR 250 crank case cover will fit? Or where to look for a genuine Balius 250 cover???

    Any comments, help greatly taken!

P.S. This hasn't scared me away from fun on two wheels.

    My sympathy, mate.
Hope the damage is not too much.
At least you came out ok. Any crash where you came out ok is a good crash.

If you're fixing it yourself, go shop at a wrecker first.

Yeah pretty much the situation was a bit too much speed! Really gutting, however not a great deal gone with the bike as it is a naked bike, so fairings aren't a worry.
Just the couple of inconvient oil 'vents' on the left motor casing. Thats the motor trouble, then after that its a few amall things like indicators, slight dent on fuel tank, and bent clutch lever.
My first pirority was to remove the bike away from the road, then try to shimmy something up... Good idea untill i saw the oil leaking at a good flow rate!

The work for the hour was bugger, closely followed with 'silly bugger'LOL!!
Well i must i am so lucky it was this simple and safe, considering the possible out come...

Appart from my dented pride, and sprained wrist, I'm in really good health and spirits.

Oh yeah and now my cheeky avata is finally a fitting one! LOL!!

I'm glad to hear that you came out of it without any serious injury, and that your bike isn't too badly damaged. I agree with others on here that your best bet for a replacement cover is a good bike wreckers.

There are two important lessons for newer riders in your post, and fortunately you didn't learn them the hard way.

Always wear your protective gear, and make your first bike a naked one.

what mark said, try corsa motorcycle wreckers. Last time I was there he had an old zxr motor he was wrecking, so you might be in luck if it fits and he's still got it.

Yeah one that magically died of oil starvation and threw a leg out of bed after being taken on scenic drive. Owned by someone who probably figured it was a 2 stroker and leaked oil on a regular basis.
