    Gixxer 1000K5 Broken!!!!

I bought Flames Gixxer 1000 from Wellington the Friday before Paeroa street races. Went to Paeroa races. Awesome weekend, great ride, love the bike, all good so far.

Wednesday after Paeroa went for a short ride between milkings, while riding up a windy hill the front wheel came up, buttoned off. As the front wheel droped the engine died!!! Broken down on the side of the road. Rang the local Whangarei Suzuki dealer who promptly came and picked me up, good service, I thought.

But after nearly three weeks they decided they weren't equiped to find the problem and sent the Gixxer off to Holeshot Suzuki who said it looked to be in the ignition emobilizor and/or the E.C.U. which will probably mean getting parts from Japan, which will take ANOTHER 11 days!!!!

My pride and joy has been off the road for 21 days and counting (wife noticing withdrawall symptoms )

This is my 9th Suzuki and 3rd Gixxer. I normally consider Gixxers to be one of the most robust bikes on the market, but this is very frustrating!!

Hope Suzuki get me back on the road soon.

    Will keep you posted.

Probably find the people that make the Suzuki ecu make the Kwaka ones. Things break, nice to know the warranty kicked in to full effect.

I feel for ya man, the only thing worse than the bike breaking down is binning it! I hope you get it sorted out quick smart and get that smile back onya face!!

Doesn't put me off the K5 though, least they didn't have to do a recall on the front wheel like the Kwaka ZX-10 a few yrs back, doh.

Reckoned they'd spent 20g's on it too Not good for a so-called Suzuki dealership eh
Oh well....ya should get in sometime soon now that it's in the right shop and THEN maybe we can do some of our roads eh mate

I guess I'll just have to keep waiting for those dreaded Spewzooki electrics to fail. I'm on my 4th one now, It'll have to happen soon.

Thought I'd broke mine last week , started miss firing under load & stalling when stopped . Started pulling it apart to found out the earth terminal had come loose on the battery , Probably from high reving vibrations . Very likey to not have Spiked my ECU from the loose earth lead :spudflip: , So something to check regularly , Have put a nyloc nut under both now . Hope you get the GSXR back up & running ASAP

how is it that i can order bits off e-bay from the east coast of usa or from the uk, amd it gets delivered to my front door within 7 days, yet dealers always seem to take 7 friggin weeks?

i'm picking they don't courier individual parts, just wait for a big shipment, which for warranty items is rubbish. i hope they have lent you a bike to use while your only means of transport is parked up
