After extensive research, moaning about not being able to get my tootsies on the ground properly, much shame at having to get others to help me with manouvering and helping me get on my bike, dropping hubbies bike on the road from not being able to support 190+ kgs on tippy toes, buying a new seat in the hope of lowering enough and many nervous moments all on tip toes,my problem has been resolved!
On recommendation from Jim2, (bling awarded, thanks m8) looked into getting an Ohlins shock put in. Took bikey through to Robert at Hawera Motorcycles who did a fantastic job and installed and set my suspension up for me.
Went through yesterday, and after a big hug for my much missed bike, I noticed how low and little it now looked, so I jumped on my beloved and was pleasantly surprised at both my feet being almost flat on the ground!!
Went for a burn around the block and with a few tweeks, Robert soon had me on my way home. Amazing.... my bike which used to be, well, rough as guts over bumps in the road, is now smooth as silk, no more jarring headaches! and generally handles better, but most importantly now, I can stop almost anywhere and feel confident about being able to touch the ground!

So that is my little contribution to A) a good news story B) great, friendly and knowledgeable service from Robert and the team at Hawera Motorcycles and C) a plug for Ohlins shocks.![]()
So if you see me out playing about on my "mini bike", come and ask to have a sit on, it's quite amusing!
