mine is ..... brought a rf900 the bike shop had it all started for me cool left bike shop stoped to have a smoke and couldent start the bike pushed it back to the bike shop thinking it was stuffed they looked and pulled the clutch in and started it never went back to bike shop for a long time

tried to trim my blade a bit coz it was long and ugly, now im still looking for a replacement (im cheap) after it broke into many many pieces :slap:

A young lady at work was 3/4 hour late for work. She later told me that she had got trapped under her GN in the basement, and when she realised no-one was around to help her, took all that time to lift it up enough to slide free!

my very first bike, a home built one at that!!

Spent sooo many hours cutting welding, cleaning, fixxing etc.

Had the tank off one day to change the spark plug, put tank back on, sweet as. Jumped on the bike rode off.... as ya do.... (i will tell you now so you understand, the fuel tap didnt work properly) as the fuel dribbled onto the head, i think a jump arc from the spark plug ignited it.... woosh!!

dropped it in the middle of the road... only to try piss on it to stop the flames but it had already burnt through the plastic tank..... so i stand there watching my pride and joy burn to the ground, while all the kids laugh at me trying to piss on my burning bike!!

cellphone dropped out of my top pocket while waiting to cross Queen St at the Whitcoulls intersection...I reached to grab, lost my balance, and fell down like a pile of elephant shit as my cell hit and the pieces separated. I held the whole row of traffic up for that sequence as I got my shit back together.

I must've looked like a huge mean bastard in my puffy cordura jacket though, 'cos none of the many people staring were pissing themselves as it happened...and I've gotta admit it must've looked some funny shit.

When I still had my FXR I forgot to put up the footstand and ended up crashing at about 60kph as a result. Felt pretty stupid after that.

I had an attack of stupid today. Left the key on, flattened the battery.
Took ages to find the trickle charger which I hadn't used in years but after an hour on charge the bike started. Sluggish turnover but it fired.

I use the Hornet's clock, and both trip meters. When I suspect the tank is getting low I tend to be more interested in the distance travelled than the time of day, and when the warning light comes on I reset one trip meter to zero. So a clock, a scots one even, does has some appeal.

The day after I bought the Virago, decided to give my pride and joy a quick clean. On the side stand, facing slightly downhill.....

A good bit of elbow grease got a rocking motion going, and down she went - with me underneath.

Weighing over 250Kg wet, there was no way of stopping it, but I'm glad to say she had a soft landing on me.....

Getting out from underneath, now that was another matter!

Disc lock caused me some anxious seconds once, rev up, pull away...bike dives...grab in time...struggle with falling weight. Not nice! Managed not to wreck disc either. Memo to self- use disc lock reminder!!!

I feel for ya brother. Did pretty much the same outside repco. Didn't fall. Was just one big large "CLONK" & I drove with a warped front disk for a few months. Doh!

Also had the one where sitting on the bike it overbalanced. Put the foot down to catch it & instead my foot became the fulcrum. The front lifted about a foot of the ground & then the whole show started to fall on top of me. Cue one hasty exit stage left followed shortly thereafter by an incredibly sad looking CBR lying on the ground....

I was bleeding the brake on my X-7, and had unfortunately left a massive amount of brake fluid on my nice ribbed cheng shin front tyre. I didn't notice until I turned into that first corner....oh well you do these things when your a novice 16 year old.

What are some of the stupid things people have done to or on their bikes?
I just finished cleaning and polishing my bike till it shone, rode it into the garage, spent a couple of minutes adjusting the clock for the new time and then lept off. Stupid tart hadn't put the side stand down and placed bike nicely on garage floor.:slap: Yeah, dumb!
So fess up, who else has done stupid shit like that, or worse..........?

me and my brother were doing a week long ride up north. his bike broke down. we were just out side wanganui so I dubbled him into town and we got some help from suzuki NZ who got a ute out to pick up the bike. we loaded the bike up and my brother and his mate headed back into town. me not knowing where they were going had to keep up. problem was we had to turn onto the main road which they did but left me sitting there as about 10 cars went past. so you do what any self respecting biker dose and found a nice stright pice of road and opened the RF up and passed the whole lot in one hit. the problem starts as im sitting on about 140km/h about 100m in front of the lead car and I see a black flash in one of my mirrors. look back to see my saddle bags end over end down the road in the oncoming lane. the shit I got from the cars I had just passed dont use bailing twine to tie your bags down.

Not a major but the other day decided to give thou a clean, proud as punch of the job,even took headlight protector off and cleaned behind it.Walked around admiring my work, crack, stood on headlight protector, snapped in half....
