i run a bell on the busa. good for travelling in traffic, but don't rely on it as toe to toe at 200m with a mufti, you're either fucked, or lucky.

One 'Digitector' ticket since 1971 is my record.

Never could see the need for a detector - and it would have done nothing to help me beat the ticket mentioned.

Cool, you obviously have a fully functioning brain and the genetic background required to form a healthy and fully operational common sense gland.

Personally I can think of many things that I'd much rather spend $800 - $1000 on.

The only reason I would want one is not so I can get out on the road and launch the bike into orbit. A radar for me is for the times when I am crusing along safely and without even knowing it your doing 115-120 and you get bloody pinged. I swear to to god I spend more time concentrating on my speedo and watching for cops that concentrating on my riding

Yea thats true, Ive got alot riding on not getting tickets so it is worth spending some money to stop it, Nothing worse than a ticket for doing 60k in a 50k zone.

    Valentine 1

Gday. I have a V1 and it works well on the bike and can be used in the car as well. I have got H.A.R.D. which has a very bright LED light that flashes in your lid. They are expensive but so are F####N tickets.

You got it. It's stronger, easily upgraded and if it gives 10 metres less warning than a Bel, who cares? At least you'll know where the IRD branch office is.

i dunno if anyone has said this but
i had a good convo with a guy in wootons about these
pretty much if u going say 15 over you can brake in time
if you going sayyyyyy 120(naughty huh?!) + by the time you pick it up(if u do) well they still gonna get u:P gonna feel pretty idiotic having a 900 dollar machine there when the cops still got u:P
if u get one just make sure it says NZ/AUS on it, if it doesnt dont get it !
but um i dunno if they are actually worth it, ive put a lot of thought in to it and have decided a screw driver to undo your plate if you really wanna go for it is the better option
could look into jammers? i dunno if they work too good tho
You are only coming through in waves. Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying...

The guy in wootons junk shop is full of shit. That's why he works for wootons. He didn't meet the criteria for Kmart.

    1) On open roads, I can sometimes pick up cops at least 2 k's away. 1 k away in front of you there could be a car so you could easily be doing over 200 k's and not get pinged. It all depends on circumstanses. If you're the only target on the road and the cop uses instant on, you're screwed. However, if the cop is using instant on targeting another vehicle and you pick up his signal then you should be fine.

    2) There is only one model of the V1 made. There is no such thing as a NZ/Aus model. Where do you think the cops get their equipment from? No, wootens doesn't make them out the back of the shop.

    3) Jammers only work on laser.

    4) You could take your plate off but you would have to upgrade your bike first. 1988 250's aren't renowned for their evasion abilities.

The other good thing about a V1 is it would double the value of your bike.
