So I woke up late, and thought "Screw it, Im late anyway, I may as well have breakfast", so after that I thought "Better go to work".

So I go out to the garage, and the PGM F1 mind control unit in the Honda starts up: "Nice Day" it says.

"Sure" I said, "particularly after the rain last night"

"So we're off to work then?"

"Looks like", says I.

I had the helmet on, gloves on, bike warmed up, rode to the end of the drive and IT WOULD NOT TURN RIGHT.

Instead, it turned left.

then, at the end of the street, left again.

by this stage I was a bit worried.

"Dont worry" says the PGM F1 unit, we're going the LONG way to work today....

and it took me up the road to the Kiwi (sign of), ALL the way across the Summit Rd to Sumner, where a mongoloid in an RVR tried to kill us (no surprises there), and then to work just in time for morning tea.

This procedure is not covered in the owners manual, should I be concerned?

Naa, sounds normal to me, infact my mates Honda turned up for work a day late and had an unexplaned extra 200km on the clock. No need to worry.

yes, you should be concerned, The long way to work should see you arrive at precisely 4:55 pm, and mind control unit should initiate grateful conversation with Boss, commanding him to be proud of the fact your day was spent on the road

Mine doesn't have PGM-F1. It's big brother has that. But.. If I put my head near the speedo.. On a quiet morning.. I can just make out the odo saying "There is pot of gold on the side of the road when all the numbers line up to say "999999"..

You'll find that it is not a solely Honda problem. It may also be genetic. Please, let me explain;
There is a genetic, not problem - enhancement might be better, that occurs only on days where you have had 'that' conversation with the control unit on your bike. An involuntary contraction, in your case the left as you turn out your driveway. The only solution is to ride the condition out of your system. I'm afraid that you may find however, that this condition is recurrent. But it shouldn't cause too many problems provided your boss is 'OK' with things....

My bike doesn't seem to have one of those. It always seems to go directly to work. Is it possible to buy a second hand unit or is there an 'after-market' supplier?
Wait on a minute. The boss is away for the next two days. Possibly my bike might have a 'go to work over-ride' that I haven't yet found. I'll have to see what happens tomorrow morning.

yeah look its a known problem and the solution is just to let it go with the "flow" dont fight it you will just end up with more problems

Mine suffers from that same problem from time to time. Just wants to go to somewhere the fast way, as in higher speed limit roads. And then, if traffic starts to slow it down too much, it suddenly starts riding around them.

Other times it can be patiently waiting in a traffic queue when suddenly another tainted biker filters past and it just takes off like a bat out of hell and follows them.

Fortunately the intended destination homing system still works.

Ive stopped riding to work these days. So I don't have that problem any more. Dores not matter what sort of bike it is either, nor if it has the fancy electricals.
