Read this a weep little bo peep...

'WHAT IS IT? This is the ‘R’ (racing) version of the gorgeous MV Agusta 910 Brutale. The standard Massimo Tamburini-designed 910cc Brutale is already one of the most beautiful naked bikes ever and is essentially a stripped down, shorter-stroke version of the Italian firm’s iconic F4 1000 superbike. The R is just that bit more special, with more power and mouth-watering chassis goodies.'

    'Chassis Heaven'

'Most sports bikes aren’t as raw, stiff and purposeful as the Brutale R. Even a ZX-10R or a G S X -R1000 feels soft and cuddly compared to this. Stiff suspension keeps it composed when entering corners, steering like a race bike and staying rock-solid on full lean.'

    'Is it still a hoolgan?'

'Although our test bike didn’t have the race exhaust fitted, like the one Finn is getting, the motor still feels fresher and more urgent. The action of twisting the throttle seems to send signals to the Brutale’s electronic black box, telling the bike to assault you at every opportunity, wheelie like a lunatic, scream blue murder through the pipes and pull arms from sockets – just imagine what it must be like with the free-flowing exhaust!'

    Nighty night poos.

Bikes are horribly addictive aren't they.

By the way, was it you I tried to follow one day down SH16? You should remember, as this was the same day the Ferrari owners club were out in force.

Is that B-pillar I see in your profile pic part of a beautiful slate grey 996?? If so, I'll second your nomination as the official bastard of KB.

    on your achievements

    The 910R

    Hey Finn,

99% of us can't afford the bikes we lust after, so it's common courtesy to provide a link to some porn and some dirty pictures so we can "satisfy" ourselves.

    http://www.mvagustausa.com/web-mvagu...tale_910R.html

    MV AGUSTA BRUTALE 910R
The Brutale 910R: Captivating style, a great temperament and engine technology par excellence. But also a fanatical eye to detail and sophisticated fittings. All these qualities have long been recognized in the both the 750 and 910 Brutale.
Now just try to imagine these properties boosted by improved performance, better braking and the dynamic handling characteristics of a full race machine. This would be the 910R. It is a motorcycle for everyday use but, under the right circumstances, capable of rewarding its rider with the behavior and riding sensation that are more in line with full race machines. The MV Agusta Brutale 910R derives from the S version and keeps the same elegant lines that are so much loved by the general public. There are however several modifications that make it even more dynamic and aggressive. As far as appearances go, the R version features changes relating to the frame and mechanicals in comparison to the base model S.
It must be said that this has great style value making the machine identifiable by means of various elements like the red rocker box cover, the black forged aluminum wheels and the Brembo brakes with their distinctive radial calipers and enlarged discs.

Mmmm, a measly 3.6km, you could walk that in less than 40mins :spudwhat:

I could also grow my hair long, buy some sandles, stop showering, go on the benefit, become a greenpiece member and move to Coromandel but no, I think I'll stick to my original plan. Thanks anyway.

Yeah the MV would be a pretty cool bike, so would a motard..especially short distance like that.

Have you thought about building up your own? like a wicked streetfighter of some sort..

Finn for a regular communter i would think get a bike, that is cheap on maintiance and the like, the brutal is nice bike but wouldn't it better to have your nice bike as weekend ride. and just something around down, that you can have fun on, small bikes(400cc) or something super motad are good for this, (small. narrow) so get betweeen cars, easy to park, not total worried that something is gonna, knock if over, etc etc.

Cause if you do alot of communting on your bike, you are gonna have alot of close calls with cagers.

The exotics sound great, but for a commuter? Why not try a Superduke or Speed Triple? (the latter is a better town bike)
I'll bet that after you've had a naked bike for a while the CBR won't get used much.

Get a GN250, after the CBR you may find the suzuki power a little intimidating but I hear the riding position and ergonomics are perfect for old ladies commuting to their cleaning job.

Do it - seriously. I did that exact same thing 3 years ago and love it.

My one word of advice - don't get anything that'll depreciate to quickly. You WILL put miles on it as your daily commute... if you do the numbers it could be cheaper to buy a little rat bike for the daily commute and save the other for fun.

I've found the RF is a good crossover between the two, and being a cheap(er) bike the depreciation doesn't worry me too much. I'll hanging onto it till it dies... giving it CPR till it dies again... etc...

    You get the idea.

Also - pack a spare pair of socks and daks a dn keep them at work. Nothin' worse than getting there wet, and staying that way all day (or having to go commando in suit pants...)
