Ha. The jokes on you. You forgot to grey out your face in your avatar! Don't deny it's you, that's the happy face of a Honda owner. I'd recognise it anywhere.
I'd forget about upgrading the bike to pull more chicks and buy a toothbrush. Chicks dig blokes with a good dental care programme.

I read the start of this thread and then went to the end so please excuse me if this has already been said.

What a poser! Apart from the criminal aspects of using such a nice bike for such a mundane chore, 3.6km for God's sake. A flash scooter would be more sensible (yeah yeah I know, when did good sense come in to a motorcycle decision), something like an Italjet Dragster. Superb style, plenty fast, CHICKS DIG THEM, and Italian.

What wanker needs a bike with "more power, oversized brakes, tight racebike handling, etc etc" just to ride 3.6km in heavy city traffic.

Look peasant, I'll explain it to you in simpleton terms. I no longer want to use a car to get to and from work. The traffic drives me crazy. I've always wanted a naked bike so here's my chance. I will also use this for rides when I feel like a different "ride" than the CBR.

I realise having a bit of money in this country upsets non contributing peasants like yourself and it's no wonder with your attitude that you ride a piece of shit.

i was delighted to read that the economics of choosing your bike didn't matter- you can please yourself-yay.

if it were me, i'd spend avery last dollar on a bike that oozed style-performance comparisons hardly matter when these choices are between the bikes you are looking at. please the eye i say- the bike that has nothing wasted in the design, beautiful components, no nasty plasticy bits... (i rekon the super duke has got some nasty plastic moments close up but looks great from a distance...took a ride on one last year). i think style esp important in a bike cause when we get off them we look like such hacks with all the gear...

good luck with the purchase & don't think for a minute that mosta these guys wouldn't love to be making this choice!

Finn, what is your opinion of Triumph Motorcycles... Speed Four?

The Speed Triple reminds me of a angry black american bitch with no voice.

    Thought about a CB900 Hornet?

Finn - seems like you're just looking for an excuse to buy a new bike. Who gives a rats what its going to be like for commuting? Its only 3.6km. Any bike would be faster than a car.

Buy whatever it is that suites what you really want the bike for.

I can sympathise with the traffic woes, it's one of the main reasons I moved out of Auckland.

Without getting into a slanging match or a "mine is bigger than yours" competition . . . ??? Ah what the hell . . I still think your choice is all about posing, or maybe I'm just too old and sensible now. If you were buying the bike for something like it's intended purpose I wouldn't have posted my first comments. You strike me as one of those yuppy wankers who buys a bike to be a "bikie" only to end up a yuppy wanker with a bike.

Also, sad to say, but at the moment and for some time I haven't had anything to ride. Except the MB/RG bucket racer which I get a real kick out of riding. Just for info - I do pay taxes.

I must be having a hard day!
