Suggests to me that tyre should be a 180. Confirm with a bike shop. The width of a tyre coupled to any given rim affects the profile of the tread, which in turn affects the bike's handling and turn-in rateOriginally Posted by craigs288

Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
According to Metzeler the ideal rim width for a 170/60-17 is 4.5",
for a 180/55-17 is 5.5".
Suzuki probably fitted 170's for cost reasons, and possibly to speed up the steering.
Speed doesn't kill people.
Stupidity kills people.
