F$%#@! Spung a leak!

My bike has sprung a leak! looks like something has gone wrong with the front brake cable, coz if you pull it it leaks out brake fluid! damnit, I knew something was wrong when it started fading on the weekend, but kept going, now i know that my brake line is fucked (possibly)!
Any ideas on how to fix it or advice would be great!

Oh and will I need new calipers if the brakes get air in them? this is just a thought.

u dont need to buy new calipers if they get air in them just need to bleed them common sense as buying new calipers would be blody expensive. maybe ask ur sponser to help. if they were any good, which im sure they are, they will put u right

You dont say where they are leaking, clean the whole area take caliper off Slid a lump of wood beteen pads. Cover the whole lot with baby powder, especially round pistons and seals then squeeze brake lever , you will soon see where the leak is

the good thing about brakes is that they are dead cheap to fix .

but we do need to find out where they are drawing air ( you have changed the fluid havent you? and used new copper brake washers?

We took it all apart this morning and everything was tight and leak free. all the gaskets etc are in great conditon. This is very odd still trying to find the problemo. It may have been tweaked or something from a crash. the search continues.......

It's up by the resivor. on the front, by the banjo bolt area.

With out seeing it there could be a couple of reasons One you did big endo and cracked the resivioure ( thats you actual french speelling that is) ...

Second the surface area of the banjo bolt is damaged, light scratches can be dressed out using a fine wet and dry stone, Others, deeper ones have a engineer look at it . Wouldnt be to expensive to repair

Third If no external leaks, and air seems to be getting in, then the seal inside the Master cylinder have gone south, Now IF the bore of the master cylinder is worn/damaged, fitting new seals will only be a temp solution. A seal kit isnt that expensive. ( I am not at home now , but at a guess it will be around 2/3000 yen ) and they can be a bit fiddly to fit.

Finally there is a crack in your hose. Ive never seen a leaking hose but everythings possible. Cure replace it.

Finally Whot are you doing using brakes, they only slow you down

This may sound stupid and it doesnt sound like it but on some brake systems( probably older 1s). Is that if u wear ur pads or lining then the piston will push as far as possible until it comes out. it mayb that the seal is coming out slightly while in operation. If you want to see if the master cylinder is the problem just block up the outlet valve and operate the lever.

Fixed the bastard!!!
It was just two 5c washers that were damaged badly and were causing the leak. thanks for the help.
