nz magazines suck , i like amcn they test moto gp bikes and interview important people they also do group tests like all the 600s or all the 1000s and give good feedback and data on the bikes .
the worst mag is nz motorcycle trader and news with that old retard recee who poses on the latest bike he cant ride for shit he just sits on them with a look on his face like he just shit his pants, i also noted that they copied articles from amcn from the previous month some of it word for word.

Actually they most likely buy articles from freelance journalists as many magazines do these days, including AMCN, so you'll find the same articles in several bike mags around the world.
You don't get to be an old dog without learning a few tricks.

    Refreshing candour as always WINJA.

I just read Rhys Jones' book "Taking to the Road" and he seems to have loads of knowledge and contacts from way back in NZ motorcycling. I enjoyed his book anyways.

    About the magazines:

I buy Motorcycle Trader for the bike adverts so I don't care if the rest is articles about cat breeding. Anything interesting is a bonus for me in that one.

I like BRM (especially the last issue with the VTX reviews, chopper articles and sprotsbike reviews by guys who probably get aches in the same places I do) and I like Kiwi Rider but am less into dirt bikes right now.

I mostly want some light reading with a bit of humor here and there and some nice pictures (although I tell my wife I only buy them for the articles).

Christ, you think KR is bad for spelling? Have you ever read - sorry, make that 'tried to read' - a copy of BRM? The appalling spelling, grammar and countless other mistakes in EVERY article irritated the living shit out of me so much I gave up reading it a long time ago. In one article they had three versions of a guy's name (and a fourth in the photo caption - which was attached to the WRONG photo, of course) - talk about having a bet each way!

I wrote a letter to them once, pointing out some of the mistakes I found in that issue. I gave up counting after about 20 pages because I'd found more than 50 mistakes - and some were as unforgiveable as the wrong spelling of a bike make! I didn't expect them to print the letter, but I didn't even get a response so that was when I stopped buying it. Every time I bought it I hoped it would have improved but it never did. Yes, glossy pages are pretty, but there is too much focus on posing and cruising - something I think should be reserved for kerb crawlers.

KR may not be perfect but at least it's got something in each issue that is worth reading (okay, not Nash's column!) - and besides, we've got every issue since it started, we can't stop now!
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!
