    ode to harley

Not the opinion of wari ...

butt funny none the less ...

    Harley, Harley, made of chrome,
Drive them out, then push them home.
Take them out and cruise for chicks,
The men who drive them have tiny dicks.
    Farm equipment in disguise,
    Sold by salesmen telling lies.
"Want to look tough, be a stud?
Then buy a Harley piece of crud.
Take them out and cruise the roads,
Packin' broads that look like toads,
Leaking oil on all our streets,
Hassling all the folks he meets,
The Harley man is macho king,
Chains and leather, that sort of thing.
So, drink your beer and shoot your dope,
    Would I own a Harley?

    NOPE.
THe hand's farster than the eye ... keepan eye onda feet .. .

    Some will laugh,Some won't.
I think I'll just smile an carry on trying to get my XS to go as well as my last HD did,Which is nowhere near as well as my Duke did.
    I haven't owned a BMW yet.

One too many syllables in the fourth line. Using "wee" instead of "tiny" would fix this though...

Great piece of poetry, but they didnt mention

The engine the size of an average car
With All the power of a vespa
Twice the money, half the go
The bike of choice for those so slow
Be a rebel, be James dean
Spend a day just keeping it clean
Looks so pretty, sounds so fine
It does not matter your 30 years behind
Harley man the midlife crisis brat
Welcome to middle age, want a harley with that?

Did once upon a Harley ride,
With pipes of chrome and bits of leather,
Then didst I ride upon Suzuki,
    Bandit, big, and good lookie,
Harley rides I then did never,
Thought that rockets made of rice,
Was more the fast and twice as nice.
'tis to wonder if the Hog stuff ever,
    Justifies the Harley price.

This "anti" Harley stuff intrigues me, are all Harleys that bad and all other makes that GOOD? and likewise the riders of said bikes?

Also if you own one off the Jap cruiser type bikes (sometimes referred to cruelly as Hardly Harleys etc) you will find their accessories and "enhancements" not a whole lot cheaper than H-D.
I sued to believe that H-D parts were miles more expensive than other brands but then I read those Aussie mags with road tests that listed the price of common needed parts like tail-lights, speedo, clutch, etc and they were more or less equal - some H-D bits cost more and some other brand bits cost more.

The word "sued" should have been "use to" - my typo

I had the use of an 1100 BMW when I was in N.Z.,ended up loving it but didn`t feel the need to act like an arsehole and ignore other bikers as BM riders tend to do,dont blame the bike, blame the riders.
