Start by thinking of Harleys as a religion, then their attitudes become clearer.

I own a Harley, (and a Suzuki and I've had a Honda) I don't think it's "better", I have it because that's what I want and no amount of anti-Harley/pro-anything else will get me to change until I make up my mind I WANT to try another bike. And I wave to who I want to(almost every other biker) and d'you know what? it's rare I don't get a wave back!

Maybe the H-D owner you have met have just had a gutsful of the "tractor" type needling and haven't the nouse to treat it like the verbal daihorea (sp?) that it is.

Some of you guys must just keep bumping into the wrong types as my riding mates ride just about every breed there is and we do it without feeling so insecure in our choice of scoot that we have to slag off at the others

Also if you own one off the Jap cruiser type bikes (sometimes referred to cruelly as Hardly Harleys etc) you will find their accessories and "enhancements" not a whole lot cheaper than H-D.
I sued to believe that H-D parts were miles more expensive than other brands but then I read those Aussie mags with road tests that listed the price of common needed parts like tail-lights, speedo, clutch, etc and they were more or less equal - some H-D bits cost more and some other brand bits cost more.
I found the same thing as far as parts price's went with both my HDs.
Stock parts were no more exspensive than stock parts on other brands Iv'e owned. After market on the other hand were real exspensive.
As far as bad atitudes go,People with em' are missing out on stuff,,Bugger that, I want it all,it's all good.
The anti HD,anti Jap thing is a waste of my time.

I have heard numerous "jap crap" comments from a few harley riders, they shut up when the mikuni carbs, showa forks, on their "100% U S of A" bikes were mentioned
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

Parts prices just reflect demand - the more they make the cheaper they are,Harleys have had a long production run with good interchangabilty,Jap bikes change models several times a year,so often their parts prices are high.

What's all this anti Harley anti Jap shit - what about that Italian crap...I think red Vtwins with loud pipes suck and anyone who would ride crap like that should have a sanity test!

SD, there only a few wanker with bad attiutes out there (some on HD's, some on Japper's, some on Beemers), but they sure get tirering.

I ride mixed a lot. Have been to quite a few poker runs. Just wish people would cut the crap and enjoy the rides .

PS: have noticed that a few of the HD's wave or nod. Shit, there are sometime I don't as I am tired or busy concentrating on the road. So thanks for the wave mate As for those who don't, thats their problem. I don't make it mine by getting upset about it.
