Quite. You need a set of fluorescent yellow fairings for the commute and the current (rather nice) black ones for ... ummm ... times when you'd rather be a bit more anonymous.

This, BTW, is my theory as to why a Ducati 749 would make a good commuter. It's f'kn huge and yellow. Now, just to run it past her indoors...

I saw one of those caining around auckland one night, knew it was 2002 but wasnt in quick enough to take the credit! I looked for one like that but couldnt find any on trademe or in the shops.

I'm not really into spending money on making it prettier or faster. I can't ride it well enough for +1 or even +50hp to matter. I like 'em standard. Only reason colour got changed was that it was cost effective in ensuring that in the all important "ratio" one side is more likely to stay at "0" when the other side goes up. If it stayed bright green I wouldn't be confident the ratio would stay like that for much longer.

Tristank, yep, bloody big chicken strips. The front tyre still has the little pointy bits on it - it's done less than 100k, and all mway. The back - yes well, I do spend faarrrrrrr too much time on mways and not enough on twisties. Big girl I am.

    Ahhh....memories...

nice bike Madboy, but you're right, that photo does it no justice at all, get your shit together and give us the good stuff, please.

2000 onwards had factory six pots...Tokico if I recall. Not bad at all, but the '03 onwards was a massive step up again.

Flag the R1 if you only ride on the road, I never had much problem with a well ridden one from this site on mine. Track would be a different story but...
