There was similar clip done, Top Gear I think, Porsche of some description vs an R1. R1 lost by a similar margin that the 999 won by. Bottom line is that they're about the same in experienced hands, but one costs 10% of the other, and one can be used for the shopping. You takes your pick, you pays your money. Bikes for me, but I'd be having a Lambo or a 911 to trailer the bike to the track with

That dork Clarkson the other night was bragging about how the bikes at IOM would be doing ONLY 170mph in the dry when some 500bhp Beemer was doing 125mph in the wet...I mean, farque, the car would kill the bike, wouldn't it! The oversized prat needs to grow up.
Yeah Clarkson can be a real wanker sometimes. He couldnt fit on a bike anyway...his perm would get in the way
Fifth Gear is way better, the guys can actually drive. Tiff has driven F1, Le Mans, Touring Cars you name it. Vicki Butler Henderson was a race instructor at Silverstone at age 17 and has raced heaps, plus she owns a bike.
Jason Plato used to race BTCC etc.
Clarkson has only driven round in circles on some disused airfield, Richard Hammond, albeit funny drives the odd porsche, and James May is a classic Bentley owner who only recently has been allowed to do donuts.
But at least Richard and James ride bikes.....not that it will change Clarksons view of them.
Bikes are still the kings of Bang for your Buck no matter what anyone says
