That may be an issue down there in the wops. Up here, they'd have to concertina a zillion cars before the accident reached a bike at the front.

Thing is Lou, at some stage you will have a car or even second car come up from behind - they're the ones that can punt you - it's not always the zillionth car back that fails to notice it's time to stop.

That's what i'm saying Scummy. Having an empty lane behind you in Auckland is a rare and wonderful experience. I think it was April 1994 when it last happened to me.
And if it were to occur again, I'd be so overcome I'd run the red to celebrate.

I have found out some more information in regards to this accident, from a witness to the event.
It seems that a 4wd decided to change lanes to the far right of 2 right turning lanes at the last moment (to head right to the overbridge from Blenheim road for those of you who know the road) and clipped the front wheel of the bike (who just happened to be there, poor fk), which sent the bike onto its side where it slid under a truck.

I hope the bugger gets well and truely done. They have left behind a family without a mom (4 kids I think?), just for their absolute stupidity and ignorance of what is going on around them.

    Sad so very sad

What a bloody waste... One moment of stupid impatience and a life is snuffed out! Whats bloody wrong with people? If you are in the wrong lane - tough! Ride it through and find some place safe to turn around!

    Very sad post this! RIP

What a dick!! Hope he roasts r-e-a-l slow!!

Had a friend who actually caused an accident and killed a guy (both cages), I guess having to live with the fact is slow roasting... If there's anything like a conscience at work, that is...
