    IRC tires, suprisingly good!!

My KR 150 still has the factory IRC tires on it, from the factory,

Now when i got the bike i thought to my self "im binning these shitty tires"

but after a few hard rides on it, and a few peg scrapers, They actually stick really well and give really good feedback, Obviously not as grippy as some of the more EXpensive tires, but more than enough grip for road use.

Have yet to see what its wet perfomance is like, but im hoping.

SO for a cheap tyre, you get good value for money !!

my bros650 and my spada both have irc tires, i must say the rear on the bros is good but it doesnt allow the bike to lean as far as id like and the front is a piece of shit that never warms up [doesnt get better after 30k but it is stupidly hard. the spada has a silly back tire but its got alot of grip in the wet and the front was very good in the wet aswell

for cheap tires they are great

    Really?

I don't find mine too bad, but I wouldn't go as far as telling everyone about it In the wet there pretty crappy IMO, much care is needed to avoid anything that might be slippery, still ride sensible and they're ok.

Yea, they are nothing special, but still shit loads better than what people make them out to be.

BTW, i have the same bike as you except mine has black rims,

How fast have you got your KR upto before?? I havnt given mine the top speed thrashing yet, but managed to get the preload on the rear just right today. (on private roads of course, seen as it is still not regestred yet)

I had a "IRC Roadwinner" or something equally badly named on the back of my vtr250, and it was up to the task.

Protech IRC... Hmmm... came with my zxr from Mt eden. Perfect for commuting did 20,000km's wore out the middles though.

GOod points.. they don't wear out - survived 4-5 corro loops at max lean etc etc. Peg them on a zxr and you start sliding, which can be interesting. Although they are rather plastic the front end never washes out for some reason, never had trouble.

    BAD POINST

THEY DONT SMOKE WHEN YOU DO BURNOUTS FFS!

Lean angles on them ain't the most confidence insporiring, I used to run around with no chicken strips, a rear tyre that wouldn't shred no matter what and the front would get pin pricks. They are basically hard as fuck tyres that take what you throw at them, excellent to learn on before getting better tyres - they will show you how to slide the bike and make you much faster when you get proper rubber

Black rims! Makes sense I'm throughly sick of cleaning mine!

I'm pretty much in the same boat for top speed thrashing, have only owned my bike for just over a month and have only had a chance to take it out a few times to some "private roads :P " So far top speed was an indicated 170, but that was in some very shitty winds (both cross and head), so I don't doubt I could add another 10kmh or maybe more. The weight of the bike does not inspire confidance in heavy winds sadly

I have run IRCs on my Trophy and found the to be very good.
I'd happily put them on again - they are great value for the money.
